They work just fine on our esp32 project, they can detect whisper noises with no problem. But you can set up your noise detection level in your project.

Worked Perfectly
Used in an ESP32 project. I bought around 25 and had no issues with any of the components, although 1 did come with no headers, but one in another batch came with 2 sets.
