Love this olive oil!
Wonderful flavor, good value, great company! The box was damaged in shipping, and some of the oil leaked out even though the company packages it very well. We love the flavor of this evvo.

Great option for those who don't like a strong olive oil flavor
I don't use a lot of oil in my cooking, but I do use olive oil selectively to add a bit of extra oleic acids and oleocanthals (healthy compounds in olive oil) to foods, not to mention a bit of richness or "mouth feel" to certain foods. I generally don't cook with it so as not to potentially disrupt some of these more delicate compounds.I'd never heard of Olizzi before so I was curious about trying it and they are correct in that it has a mild and slightly "fruity" flavor. There's not much of a peppery or bitter aftertaste that you get with some olive oils, which is kind of good and bad. It's good for those who don't like that flavor, but also means there are fewer oleocanthals that produce them. When cooking for people who don't like these flavors (my picky kid would be one such example), this is a plus, as she will not complain that it has a strong olive oil taste. Also, when making my homemade hummus, a nice mild olive oil is a great option to add richness but without overwhelming the other flavors. If you use this selectively as I do (I put one tablespoon into an entire blender of hummus), this little container can last a while, but if you are using it to cook with, I could see this running out very quickly. The price is a bit high for the relatively small amount, but it is a premium olive oil, so you're paying for quality - so you should use it with that in mind - selectively as I do, or perhaps as more of a culinary decoration of sorts, to add color and a hint of flavor to some home made bread, etc.As mentioned, the container is very small and is colored in such a way that if you didn't come up and read the label, you could swear it was a bottle of shampoo or conditioner! The opaque labeling serves as a way to keep light out and thus reduce oxidation of the product, but I kind of prefer more traditional style bottles, but of course that's at totally subjective matter!

Great flavor, great value…
I like the pure and natural flavor of the Olizzi olive oil. I use it for cooking, salads, cleanser and even sometimes as a mouth wash. I think it’s great no matter what you use it for. 🤔

average
Not a big olive oil fan and typically use avocado oil. We had one olive oil recently that changed my mind: Pruneti Leccino Monocultivar - Delicate Flavor Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Tuscany, Italy, 2020 Harvest. It was amazing and the taste was so perfect and harmonious pared with a high quality balsamic vinegar.THIS Olizzi olive oil tasted like every other store bought olive oil. Very strong in flavor and not pleasurable to me. My husband will be finishing it because he does not mind the strong flavor on olive oils.Your mileage may vary, but the one I listed at the onset is my fav and the bar I rate all others by. Olizzi does not measure up.

product of Turkey, early harvest, single varietal EVOO made from Tekir (i.e. Kalamata) olives
This Olizzi Everyday Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a mild and fruity, "balanced", early harvest EVOO, without a lot of peppery kick but also fewer bitter and pungent notes. It's single varietal, made Tekir (aka Kalamata) olives. It comes well-sealed in a short opaque glass bottle to protect the olive oil from light. It's a product of Turkey. Rather than reserving it as a dipping or finishing oil, I'll probably use it as a cooking oil due to its relatively mildness. For bread dipping or drizzling over salad, I prefer EVOOs that are less subtle and are more peppery and robust, but YMMV.Just to clear up something brought up by another reviewer who was in error, the oil and the company are not from Japan. Olizzi and its oils are from Turkey, a region of the world with a long history of olive growing. However, this particular oil did win an award from Japan Olive Oil Prize in 2021. Japan Olive Oil is an international contest that aims at promoting extra-virgin olive oils of all origin in Japan and there are hundreds of entrants. There is no other connection between Japan and Olizzi.
