This is a 5" x 7" journal which could be used for Journaling, drawing, or as a travel journal. It is made of real leather (and has that wonderful, real leather smell!) and I'd held shut with a leather strap wrapped around it. It has 220 pages. The pages themselves are thick parchment paper which are bound together with thick straps of leather; the straps are as useful as they are decorative.There are many positive things about this journal, the most important being how authentic and historical-looking it is. It truly looks like it was made centuries ago. It is real leather, having that great leather smell to it. The parchment paper is unlined, cream colored, and thick; writing does not seep through, making it possible to write on both sides of the paper. The strip of leather wrapped around it holds it securely closed. It looks like a book that needs important things written in it; it is not for writing your grocery list in. The binding is beautiful: a series of x's on the spine, and, on the inside, the pages are divided into 5 sections which are held together by the leather strips. Though it is the least expensive of this type offered by Amazon, you would never guess it. It is every bit as nice as the more expensive ones.The main downside to it is that it is hard to keep open while writing because of the way it is bound. Also it seems kind of small, though it's size was given in the description. It is perfect to set on your nightstand or in a drawer, but it would be awkward to put standing on a bookshelf with other books.I got it to use in a sacred writing class I was taking, and it is absolutely perfect for it. It's a little awkward to write in, but we'll worth it to give my writing the feel I wanted it to have. It looks like something scribes of old would have used. It looks humble yet important, something I will want to hang onto, not just throw away when I'm done.If you are looking for a modern journal, with bigger, lined paper, and a lack of originality, this is not for you. If you want something which is unique, important, and old fashioned, you will like to get it. The best word I can use is "authentic". It gives a wonderful feel to your writing.

The books are very nice quality with a good brown leather color and feels so soft in the outside. It made me feel like an adventurer while writing in them. The thickness of the paper, binding, and book over all is very nice. I bought 4 of them and they were great priced.

It's a good journal slot of pages in it I'd say worth the price

The quality of the cover is great, the paper is also thick. I like the design, it gives the vibes of back in the old days. To match the style, I also purchased an ink pen. However, it’s a little uncomfortable to write, especially towards the edge. My hand ran out of support because of the small sized pages.I kept the notebook on the desk next to my bed. I used it for journaling. When I went to bed, I can smellthe leather. It didn’t bother me too much, but if you don’t like that smell, I recommend out the notebook in another room.

Gotta say I really love this little book for sketching etc - Hope to fill it quickly can’t wait to buy the next
