Access panel for bedroom to be able to get to the water lines in the bathroom.

This access panel is a good design with hinges and was easy to install. It was modified for easier access by cutting out a half moon handle. I used this access panel for a unique install of a media box for my gateway. My older home does not have the traditional size studs preventing the install of a structured media box and this panel worked perfectly for my project.

Once everything was cut, measured, plastered, and painted, this cover was easy to slide into place.

The door is very flimsy.

This is a pretty simple access panel to install, as long as it's going into open sheetrock / drywall (where you don't have a stud right at the edge of your opening. I like that it hinges and it's made of a decently thick plastic so it's not flimsy at all. Occasionally it was a little hard to open, but I'd rather have that then it falling open on its own. A simple butter knife into the seam helps to pop it open (just make sure it's the correct side you're opening and not trying to pry open the hinge side). I'm very pleased with it.** Please note that the review had an option for "adhesion" and I gave it 5 stars--it DOES NOT come with any adhesion; you have to caulk the back and press it against the drywall. Once you do that and let it sit, it adheres really well. I'd recommend white or clear caulk, as the product is white and will look better.A Recommended Buy

Had a shower valve leak and I broke through the wall behind it to fix it. Rather than fix the lath and plaster wall (house was built in 1918) and for future access to the shower valve (shower manifold technically) I opted for this access panel. Local hardware stores only had 12” x 12” and I wanted more space so opted for the 14” x 14” and it works great! Going to hang a wall portrait over it but it doesn’t look that bad as is. Would definitely purchase another.

I purchased this access panel to cover a hole I had to make in my wall to snake wires into my home. Since I need to be able to access the area to add or remove wires I wanted something that would allow me to close the hole but still open it easily.I laid this against the wall and traced the inside of the access square. When I cut the hole in the drywall I cut on the outside of the line. This allowed the frame to fit snugly in the wall. I used heavy duty construction adhesive around the perimeter of the frame and spread it out with a popsicle stick. I made sure to get the glue on both the flat frame as well as a small amount on the side of the frame. Once I pressed the frame into the wall, the glue filled in any imperfections in the cut of the drywall. After a few minutes I placed the door into the frame.The look is a much cleaner look instead of just having a piece of sheetrock screwed to the wall.

wish I could stick it up or it had clips, but I will use construction adhesive to keep the frame in place.
