Berserk (2016): The Complete Series - Essentials Blu-ray + Digital

Like the headline says, this is a perfectly fine way to watch Berserk. Idk why fans are so angry about the animation style, sure it can be a little distracting but that doesn’t warrant all the crazy insults they hurl. The animation may not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s fine. It’s not that big of a deal. Anyways, I hosted a berserk viewing party and showed a few newbies what the series is about then let them read the manga and they had fun!

Well, the animation in these seasons is hands down the worst. But, fans finally will have puck, a continuation of the Beserk story, some awesome characters, and everything that the 90’s anime had to offer… you just have to deal with a major downgrade in animation quality. That being said you get used to it fairly quick. 1-2 episodes in you stop noticing how crappy computers animated it is, and just enjoy the story.

This serves as the sequel to the 1997 series. While the 3D CGI animation may not be everyone's cup of tea, the story, characters, and music still make up for it and leave you wanting to know more and where things will go. Also, from die-hard fans, they know that this is out of whack from the manga, but casual viewers like me can still enjoy the story in full detail while not being all familiar with Berserk. As a newcomer to Berserk, I honestly don't believe there will be anything to top how dark Berserk is. There is a lot of graphic content for mature audiences, which is why this will not be topped.

It's fantastic! Studio gaga did well with the comic styling of the anime. If you haven't read through the story in black in white, Amazon has the deluxe hardcover volumes to collect and I highly recommend reading through them!

exactly what you would expect awesome anime tons of action and good sound quality personally im not a huge fan of the animation style but its cool to have the anime extended the 97 version is better but i think most anime from the 80s-90s is better

There's a lot of hate for the animation. I personally don't care for the CG look... It's completely fine and isn't nearly as distracting as I was told about. This series takes place right after The Golden Age arc and is full of all the nudity, violence, and gore that you'd expect. The sound of that giant sword ripping through demons is one of the coolest sounds I've ever heard.

There has been a lot of negative criticism about this series. I want to resolve the issues. People are mostly confused about the animation. This is a comic style animation (different from regular animation). People are also confused about the production quality. It is not a big budget anime but an epic series to watch on a large screen TV. The episodes are addictive and the story is well written. This series has the best Berserk sword and armor animation, intense and striking. Overall a great series to own and watch!!

Absolutely fabulous

A very enjoyable series and the animation and the CGI are not nearly as bad as the fanboys would like you to believe! Still years ahead of anything coming out of Disney and the rest, ignore the naysayers and give it a chance!
