Not real hair, only #1 has any sort of point, but good brushes for the price.
I mean, I'm no expert, but I really doubt this is real Sable hair. It has that sheen of synthetic bristles, and it has that slick texture of them, too. I have some brushes from Dwarven Forge that might not be TOP quality, but you can just TELL they're made with real hair. From using the #3 and the #1 to paint some terrain tile details, I will say they hold paint a bit better than some of the other relatively cheap brushes I have, but they're nothing to write home about. I really like the design of the brush, though, so I'll get use out of these. The only one of these brushes that has ANY sort of point to it is the #1. It held it fairly well and for a cheap brush it'll make a solid detail brush.Overall I'd say that for the price they're good brushes.

These are great for secondary or beginner brushes
These save my expensive w&n and Raphael brush from un needed wear and tear. There not as needle sharp pointed or absorbent but for the price there great. I'd say these and one quality brush and your good for a beginner or even a Princeton synthetic sable like aqua elites and these. That's based on my experience mileage may vary as it's art and everyone's got different goals expectation and styles.

Cut brushes
I'm not sure if I received a bad batch or not, but the brushes I got were cut, no points at all, and not worth of consideration for any type of detail work or miniature/model painting. I'm returning these and spending a little more on better quality. Miniature painters--look elsewhere.

Works great
Nice set of brushes. I used them to custom paint my golf clubs with Testors enamels. Just use some orange go gone to clean them up after and the bristles stay shaped and soft.
