It's good, but.............
This is my new favorite bit holder for sure! BUT, there is one drawback, that is, it does not lock the bit in. It does have a strong magnet, but for those pesky screws that won't let go of your bit, the bit does slide out of this. It happens every now and then, it has not been enough for me to want to stop using it. I feel this is much better than the ones that slide back and forth to hold the screw since I rarely would use that feature anyway. The spinning part you grip is great, does not seem like it will bind up like the other type.

Works okay
Still not 100% convinced that there isn't a lot of snake oil involved in this. Doesn't really seem to affect the life of the bits any at all, but does seem to help prevent caming out Phillips head screws.

I like anything Crescent Brand This works well but I’m Not so sure that it will improve bit Life as well as it says. But I would buy it again

No magnet, will not hold screw
Haven’t broken one bit but it does not hold the screw, being it’s not magnetic. So you have to hold the screw so you don’t drop it .

This IS Magnetic!
This bit holder DOES have a bit holding magnet inside, in addition to an internal retaining ring. Other reviews claiming it does not have a magnet are incorrect. Is the magnet strong enough to retrieve an engine block from the ocean floor? Probably not. The magnet in this case is meant to help retain the bit, not the fastener.
