You cannot properly set up a guitar's intonation without one. The battery lasts a long time I use this all the time and have not needed to recharge it in months.

Some simple improvements like the model costing a few more dollars - the SST 1 - include better connections from the clamp to the tuner which should making the thing break in half less likely than previous models. This one is rechargeable, also, but doesn't have the nice little case the other model has. I bought both this one and the slightly more expensive one, and would recommend either as a quality guitar tuner, but the case is worth the extra two or three bucks for me. That's the only reason I give 4 and not 5 stars for this one.

I decided to retire my guitars with lock nut tremolos not too long ago due to absolutely hating floating bridges. While I've been enjoying the ease of set bridges, I do miss staying in tune indefinitely. Sometimes I just want to play. I have an old microphone tuner as well as a built-in tuner on my pedal board, but both can be pretty cumbersome while just picking up to practice or noodle around for a few minutes. So I ordered one of these. It's small, unobtrusive, and doesn't really get affected by other noises around me while tuning. Just as important, it's very easy to see and is accurate. Cuts my tuning time from a minute or two down to maybe 15 seconds. It's also great if there's a drummer setting up who refuses to be quiet for the minute I need to tune by ear. My only complaint is that it's not great with picking up the low E or lower on a bass. I turned the pitch frequency down all the way, which helped a lot, but it still struggles a little with that string on a bass. Not significantly, but enough to maybe double the time it takes to tune a bass. Having never owned a vibration based tuner, I don't know if this is a common occurrence. And this has worked fantastically on my guitar and all other bass strings. That criticism is more nitpicking than anything else. I most definitely recommend this!

Works great for dulcimer tuning. I like seeing how much charge is left—something hard to know with my battery type Snarks.

I have only been playing since February and this is my third or fourth tuner... this one has been the best yet and the only one that stayed actually working... accurately and it is easy to use and I only use it a couple times a week.... but I have had it a couple months and only charged it once and it it still shows a full charge. I love that it is rechargeable, easy to use, easy to read and a nice overall design.

Het trok me aan dat dit een oplaadbare tuner is. Lekker duurzaam, echter de constructie van het apparaat is dat niet. Binnen twee maanden breekt het balletje van het staafje waarop de tuner bevestigd zit. Is kennelijk een veelvoorkomend probleem, echter het is niet na te bestellen. Dus nu is deze tuner onbruikbaar

One of the best tuners on the market for my Uke. One charge simply last ages. As this is recharged by a USB, it is not affected by hot weather. Battery operated ones can shut down due to raised temp.

We've been using Snark tuners for years. This is a step up in the Snark line. Works great, unobtrusive, quick tuning for band or practice.

Use an app instead of this. Much better!!! And cheaper!
