strapped two 10ft Kayaks to the Honda Accord and drove on the Highway for over an hour. didn't budge and inch.Update: bought the 11.5 outlaw and fits on the car fine. When adding my daughters kayak I added more straps.

There are no instructions and it is not clear how the pads are strapped to the car. It may -or may not be a simple solution but without any guidance, I'll spend a lot of wasted time "figuring it out" and potentially returning the item when I just give up. How hard would it be to provide a one page instructional? Or, it may be that there is no figuring it out, this is a faulty product and is missing something. In either case, I'm writing this because you expect to be able to use the item and right now, I can not. just an update...I did figure it out and am more annoyed they didnt provide instructions. One paragraph - undo straps, determine shorter ones are used to attach to the car, longer for the object being strapped.

I was able to fit 2 10 foot kayaks on top of my CRV. We only used what was provided but would probably add more straps if we were going on the highway. Very impressed/surprised how easy it was to put up and how well it worked.

This thing is awesome! I no longer have to borrow my sons truck to go kayaking! Very quiet, took me 5 mins to put on my car, another 10 to load the kayak by myself, and strap it down on the car. I couldn’t even tell it was on the car while driving at 60! One strap goes under inside car and the other strap goes over kayak on each bumper. So inexpensive and easy way to get your kayak to where you want to go.

Seems like the best cheap option for a sedan roof rack. Super easy to put on, seems stable enough. I would be comfortable having two kayaks on it I think.I've used a few types of racks, this beats the hell out of those foam blocks. DEFINITELY get this instead of foam blocks if you dont have any existing bars on your car.

I have used these a few times to transport my 10 foot recreational kayak that weighs about 45 pounds on my older four door sedan with a bare roof. The first set came with a pad that had a ripped strap. The company was kind enough to replace for free. The second set came in perfect condition. The pads are pretty easy to install and the pads and straps themselves feel strong but the stitching that holds the straps to the pads seems a bit iffy. It looks fine at first, but when you go to tighten the top straps to secure your kayak, it seems like the stitching might fail. Haven’t had any problems yet, but I am always careful when tightening the straps to make sure I don’t pull too hard all at once.In order to get the straps tight enough to the point where the kayak doesn’t move, creates enough pressure on the pads that they cause the roof of my car to dent in. I’ve tried many different positions with the same results. The roof has always popped back out and I have an older car so I am not too worried, but if you have a newer car that you actually care about, this product might not work for you. I wish they lined the bottom of the pads with some kind of rigid material to help distribute the pressure evenly. I thought the longer pads would help with that but it’s basically the same result as the shorter foam pads.With that being said, I’ve used these straps to secure my kayak while on the highway for about an hour each way and it was fine. I do always use bow and stern lines and an extra NRS cam strap down the middle for extra security. I probably wouldn’t use these pads alone for any kind of highway travel.Hope that helps.

Used this to car top my 8 foot Porta bote to my 2010 Prius. Worked great. Really easy to set up but doesn’t come with instructions of any sort which is a little wierd. Should at least have some documentation containing max weight capacity, ideal mounting positions, etc. Other than wind noise above 60mph I had no problems. I was nervous taking it on the highway so I used an additional cam buckle strap and rope in front to secure the Porta bote to the bumper. I don’t think I needed those extra measures but doesn’t hurt. I checked the straps and connections regularly, nothing moved and straps stayed tight, so I’m happy with the purchase.

For the cost this is the best non fixed roof rack out there. It is super easy to put on and it absolutely secures my kayak. I only gave it for stars because it did not come with instructions for how to put it on the vehicle. Would definitely buy this again.
