I'm a La Mer believer now, but try a sample first.
I don't want to love this cream, because it's going to take a chunk out of my paycheck, but...it's GOOD stuff! I've tried other things supposedly similar (I'm waiting for my German Nivea to arrive in the mail as one last ditch effort to find something great that's cheaper - I plan on adding biofermented sea kelp to it, a La Mer). I've read all of the comments and reviews that say it's an old formula, nothing special, "dermatologists say it doesn't do anything better than a $10 moisturizer," etc. Well...whatever! To each her own. This cream feels wonderful to me - it soaks in, not sticky, goes under make-up well, decent but not overpowering scent, and you don't have to use much. I am mid-30s, combo skin that leans on the oily side. I love all-natural stuff, but I have minor allergic reactions around my eyes with a lot of "natural" products. The one natural product that I am loving is DHC Virgin Olive Oil Moisturizer (I kid you not - wonderful stuff I use at night only - going to post a review there next). I'm trying to get my skin used to Retin-A, so I get some reptilian-dry days - and still, La Mer works. I'm a fairly practical person, and I try not to get sucked into hype and trends, but if something works well, then I'll pay for it. Maybe I'll cut down on the fancy facials or my makeup budget this year (I wear less and less every year) - if this cream continues to works as well as I think it will, I may not need facials or makeup anymore! DHC Virgin Olive Oil at night, La Mer in the morning - I'm set. This is my favorite of the three La Mer moisturizers - the gel isn't moisturizing enough (maybe in the summer), the original formula is nice too. However, don't be ridiculous and pay outrageous prices before you've tried it. Try the sample sizes!

Very moisturizing!
I like this moisturizing cream, but it is too expensive for me. I just wanted to try it.

Too small to evaluate!
Too small! Ridiculous that I should have ordered such a small product.

Still don't get the price!
Really like this cream but even after trying the sample I still can't justify purchasing the full size. The price is outrageous! The cream is ultra moisturizing and perfect for someone like me with sensitive skin that peels when treated. I used this after a derma pen treatment and the peeling was barely noticeable. I will likely buy another sample and save it for extreme peeling days. My drug store stuff works as well on all of the other days of the year.

The jar is VERY tiny
It’s a nice moisturizing cream but it is such a small amount.

smells odd and is quite greasy
NOt wanting to spend a tiny fortune on the regular size LaMer, I opted to try out this travel size. The cream itself is very rich and left my face feeling a bit greasy- maybe my face isn't dry enough to make it a staple in my daily routine. In addition, I found the smell to be metallic and a little off putting. However, if you're looking for a quick fix in terms of a very rich, moisturizer then you can't go wrong.

The cost
I liked the cream but it is expensive. Then I have to compare it to other creams I’ve used and is it really worth the extra cost. My answer is no!

Sample too small
Well I obviously don’t know my measurements. This is .11 ounces which means less than 1/10 of 1 oz. Next time I will wait to see if a kiosk in the mall is offering samples. Live & learn. Too much money for the little sample I got but it’s my fault for not paying attention. Gave 5 stars product is great!!

Pay close attention to the size of this item. As small as a makeup counter item and good for maybe 4 uses. Major scam
