MINKA-AIREF749L-BNK Skyhawk 60 Inch LED Ceiling Fan with Carved Wood Blades, Integrated LED Light and DC Motor in Burnished Nickel Finish

This fan looks even better in person. It seems to be well crafted and the DC motor is virtually silent. The install went smoothly until it came to attaching the blades, which proved to be slightly challenging to get the screw though the blade and into the holes, all while on a 12 foot ladder. I followed the install instructions, but if I had to do it again, I might have attached the blades while on the ground. I did purchase the wall control (wc 1000) as it looks much cleaner than the supplied remote in my opinion. The wall control has the exact same buttons and features as the remote. The led is very bright but has a nice dimming feature. The hard-wired led light is a little on the warm side and the temp cannot be adjusted, but I think it is good for a living room and I probably wouldn't want it any cooler.

Fan is nice looking does not look cheap. The remote is terrible and does not respond well. I bough the bond bridge and installed the bond home app which was easy to do. Problem is the app lags and sometimes needs to be pressed twice. Forget about Google home working with it, it's hit or miss, mostly miss. The app does works better than the remote but still does not work like a normal remote should. It's very frustrating and I would have gave 5 stars but the remote is terrible but essential since there is no other way to operate the fan or light.Fan is now stuck on speed 5 and the light is on, remote or bond app does nothing. Only the wall switch turns everything off but when the wall switch is pressed back on, fan speed 5 and light is on again. I even tried turning off the circuit breaker and nothing.

All the pictures show a cool light or daylight, this is has that ugly yellow light color. I hate this thing because of that only! I already paid to have it installed, I feel like the pics are false advertisement, I read somewhere it was a daylight, but because I don’t remember where I can’t blame the description on Amazon.

It appears that the Minka line of fans is becoming just another cheap ceiling fan. This one appears to be made of balsa wood and is a Rattle Trap. We purchased a Timber model and it is even worse, but sadly it is outside of our return window, so I will be contacting Amazon business customer service, Direct, as Minka told me to pound salt, as I did not purchase it directly through them. We purchased 9 Minka ceiling fans for our remodel and had planned to purchase another seven, but likely will not, as they are not interested in supporting their customers. Our property has approximately 16 Minka fans that were perfectly good, but showing their years. Seems we should have kept them, as the current line of make a fans do not measure up. Sad that a company is not interested in supporting their customers or their fans. Must have been purchased by a Chinese Consortium. I will be returning this fan and contacting Amazon about the timber model rattletrap.

Previous fan that we replaced with this one weighed twice as much. The fan installed with downrod included was only about 15lbs overall. The blades were a bit trickier to align the screws than some fans that I've installed, but still very doable with a bit of patience. The down-light fixture is brighter than expected, and since we used this in a vaulted ceiling location that was a plus. The fan blades were SUPER lightweight, which for installation was excellent while working on the ladder. The finish of the blades was incredibly rich looking. The fan operates very quietly and remote is intuitive. Like the airplane propeller look, and very impressed with the fit and finish of the materials. Would highly recommend this fan.
