Vostok company story starts back in 1942, when one of the Moscow watch-making plants has been evacuated from Moscow to a little town Chistopol located on the Kama River. Defense equipment was the only company output during war years, but as soon as the war was over Vostok started to make mechanical wrist watches - the main production item ever since. In 1965 Vostok company was appointed an official supplier of watches for the Defense Department of the Soviet Union. This year marks the creation of the world-famous "Komandirskie" ("Commander") watch. Military watch grew very popular even with people who were unaware which end of the gun bullet comes off, mainly due to high precision, excessive reliability and durability. The appearance of the watch also contributes to its appeal - functional and clear-cut design invoked the feeling of belonging to the tough world of combat professional. The experience which Vostok gained through development of the army watch was the foundation of our next special watch - "Amphibian". This impressive timepiece in stainless-steel case endured the depth of 2000 meters - kind of a wrist submarine. Success of the professional watches determined the company's present philosophy - to create mechanical watches maintaining precise timekeeping at any temperature, in any environment, surviving heavy pressure and blows. The viability of the chosen strategy is now time-proven. A vast multitude of people both in Russia and abroad boasting "Vostok" watches and various international prizes awarded for high quality and commercial success testify to this. In 1996 Vostok started a partnership with US "Capital Trading" company aiming to create a new generation timepiece. The watch assembled to US sales by Sputnik TM technology.

Great quirky everyday watch
First of all; the seller is great! Our dutch postal service was a mess but Sergey was always quick to reply my questions and made sure everything turned out great in the end.The watch feels solid; nice polish on the case and a great distortion on the domed crystal.Dial has a nice little sunburst on it and the lume on hands and incides are decent enough to help you in the dark.Bezel is bi-directional and a bit rough, but ok for the money.Please read the manual! The crown feels loose but that's actually intended to prevent lateral stress on the crown. There's also the quick set method in the manual. And the best way to use the crown to ensure waterproofing.The provided nato strap is better than expexted. Nice burnt holes and sides so i won't expend ander frailing soon. The rounded buckles are solid and nicely polished as well.It's not perfect, so no 5/5 rating; the rough bezel action and simple dial print were the things that make it a 4/5 watch in my opinion, but for an everyday beater or a first automatic watch I can only recommend it.

Russian Masterpiece
Accept for the fact that it arrived late, the watch is a masterpiece. This is one of the most durable timepiece in terms of daily use. I did a some modifications to change the bezel and strap to personalised it. I can safely say its a real value for money. And the seller was also constantly in contact to update me on the delievery status.

Great Product
This is the first Russian watch I've bought. The quality is far beyond my expectation. The adjustment on date can be a little bit tricky: the description on clockwise and count-clockwise is about the gadget, not the minute hand. So it took me a while to figure it out. Other than that, everything is perfect.As a fan of CCCP and Russian culture since my childhood, I feel really happy to wear it every day. Hope to see more great Russian products like Vostok watches on global market. Thank you!

Excellent watch, looks different from any other watch. it feel from the WWII, Russian design practical, durable and reliable.The only drawback is the bracelet, not have the same quality of the watch.
