CD didn't help but otherwise a good box
I have a little chihuahua and they're not the easiest to train, but I thought I'd give this a go. The treats are perfect size for her and they're soft too. Unfortunately, she's the fussiest dog when it comes to treats and food, and while it does encourage her to do tricks, she attempts to bury them and save them for later. She did start to pick them up and show interest. Five to ten minutes later, she came back and ate them. This is amazing for. In fact, once she got going, she was more than happy to touch her nose to the palm of my hand for a treat. The clicker is great quality and makes a decent sound, which I combined with a treat. Surprisingly, she likes the taste of the toothpaste but the toothbrushes are too big for her mouth, unfortunately. I can sort of get the finger one in there, but ideally, a smaller one would be better. I tried out the long training lead and surprisingly, she wasn't phased by it at all. She did her business and walked about without any problems. This will be handy when we walk with friends as she tends to wander off with her nose to the ground and not keep an eye on where we are. The CD sounds are a bit flat and muffled, although I could get them up loud. I would really have liked one with children screaming during their play and other darks barking. My dog slept through the whole CD.

Pretty good bundle for dog owners.
The box contains six different products that all can be used to train your dog in different ways. It's a nice bundle for dog owners, and could even be given as a gift. It has some really useful items then some others that are not so useful…The recall line is the first item: a simple 5M/16ft lead that attaches to your dog's collar. It's strong and unlikely to tear or be chewed through, although it does feel a bit rough on the hands and will leave burns if you lose your grip on it. It has plenty of leverage and gives your dog the freedom to roam whilst still giving you a good amount of control if your dog misbehaves.A multi-clicker which feels like any other clicker. There's nothing too special about it. You can control the sensitivity of the clicks for dogs that are hard of hearing and, all in all, it works if used properly but I find for some dogs it just doesn't.A two tone whistle: these are great for teaching tricks and having your dog perform tricks with a simple whistle blow. The two tones are very different from one another. It also comes with a cable so you can wear it around your neck.Dog training treats: they seem to be good quality. The treats are slightly moist and my dog loves them. You get 200g in the bag and it's resealable.Toothbrush and toothpaste: really good quality toothbrush for dogs, it can be fairly hard getting your dog to allow you, but it works really well, my dog has fairly bad breath and after using this I have noticed a great difference. And lastly a CD with ambient household sounds: they say it's mostly for puppies but this kit was directed at adult dogs so I'm not too sure why they threw it in there. It's just a CD of sounds for your dog to get used to them. I personally think it's pretty useless and your dog will naturally get used to the sounds about your home as it happens naturally.Overall, a lot of the items in here are really good and if you are after a few then this may work out a better deal than buying them individually. They do have a website with a training guide on how to use each item, but I gave a good test of each item and was happy with the majority of them.

Good selection
This is a great kit for anyone trying to train their dog and has a good selection of ‘tools’ to help you achieve your goals. The whistle has two different tones depending on which end you blow through and is made of plastic, it looks a bit cheap but it works. I found that one tone my dog reacted too instantly and the other he just completely ignored even when offered a treat. The bag of reward treats are star shaped, pea sized, slightly moist biscuits which our small dogs seem to like but I’m not sure if a larger breed would be too impressed. You get a decent sized bag to start you off.The recall lead is a long flat textile lead which attaches to your dogs collar/harness, it’s five metres long, and along with the whistle can be a great way to teach your dog to return from a distance while still keeping the dog secure. As it’s flat you can easily roll it up to fit in your pocket when not in use.The clicker is made of plastic on the outside and is a good way of teaching close commands along with the treats, the quality is good and the sound loud and sharp enough for your dog to hear even if they’re a little hard of hearing. The best thing is the toothbrush, this rounded, good quality brush is very easy to use and seems to be more accepted by our dog, he doesn’t let me use a normal brush without a bit of fuss, using this brush he was quite happy once he gotten used to it in his mouth. There is a tube of toothpaste included too which they seem to like. The CD included is something that could be useful for acclimatising a puppy to various indoor and outdoor sounds or relaxing an older dog in a frightening environment, there is also a link to download an mp3 version too.You also get links to online help with bite size information on how to use the equipment in this kit.All in all it’s a great kit at a price a little on the high side and just under £40, but it is useful, decent quality and made from pet friendly materials.

Can you teach an old dog new tricks?
Comprehensive set of animal training items. This states it’s for adult dogs but then the cd to desensitise against dogs from upsetting noises also states it’s for “prevention of your puppy developing sound phobias”, so will this work on an adult dog? I’m not sure.Very useful for a pup and how I wished I’d have had this years ago before my dog developing her crippling fear of fireworks. The recall line also seems more in line with training a puppy or new dog.Even so I will persist and see what headway I can make with this equipment. The whistle, clicker, toothbrush and treats are all very handy however regardless of age and I’ve made good progress with these and looking forward to seeing how far I can take it.
