A great way to go thru the bible

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend, and he absolutely LOVED it. The content is rich and easy to follow.

Am enjoying this BIBLE IN A YEAR COMPANION, Volume 1. Each day has two-pages including: 'Reflect on the Word': written in a bullet point format. Helpful in not getting bogged down with many paragraphs. The 'Take it to Prayer' reflects the daily lesson in the form of a prayer. The 'Dive Deeper' may have a photo of a place or a map or a prayer prompt or a personal challenge. This is a great Companion to the Ascension Bible in a Year. I highly recommend this!

So far I am liking this! I dont do too well with podcasts since I dont drive too far to work daily. During my lenten season I have been wanting to sit back and read and focus on God and the bible. This is a great example of doing so. Each day is quick and to the point! You’re not reading paragraphs, and you’re not losing focus or getting distracted. I like that some parts of the book shows very detailed images and it really helps you process what it was like back then. This is Genesis - Samuel. Will beed to purchase volume 2,3 to complete the whole bible!

So grateful for these! I actually went through 2/3 they year of podcasts before realizing these 3 companions exist! They provide essential reinforcement of the readings as well as further readings, images, and thought provoking bonuses and prayer. It’s great to have for review and as a refresher. Going to repeat, after catechism in a year! Love!

Your journey in faith is what matters. I am not a Catholic. I was actually raised baptist. I am so glad I didn’t let that stop me from this purchase. My best friend is always on a faith journey and shares her next quest with me. I highly recommend using this book with the app for an incredible journey with your faith. Father Mike tells the story of the Bible by reading scripture and then explaining it so you don’t get so lost and you have a wonderful reference. Myself and my daughter are enjoying this very much.

This book follows the Bible in a Year program by Father Mike on Podcast or YouTube and the Discovery Bible program provided by Ascension press. This Bible in a Year program is popular and highly rated. The book is fine, but I don't feel it is necessary to complete the program, that is, if you are using the videos or podcasts. The information provided in this book is the same information provided by Father Mike at the end of each video or podcast. There are some illustrations that you may or may not find of benefit to you. If you are not using the YouTube videos or Podcasts, then I can see where this would be a useful addition to your bible study program. The book is quite pricey, in my opinion, so if I were to do it over again, I would use the videos and skip the book.
