The seat is firm and hard like wood, it will not bend around you r butt or foot. Also, the rope is made of thick corded nylon that lasts and lasts. it's very easy to adjust the length and just as easy to hang from a tree limb or swing set. It's a great seat and indestructible rope and I highly recommend it.
