This is a great ball to use for outdoor play. It's clearly a step above the cheap $10-$20 balls you buy off the shelves. It has the weight of an official game ball, and after the initial slipperiness of the exterior from dust, the grip is great as well. You don't want to use the top-end leather balls for concrete and asphalt as that would destroy those, and defeat the advantage of getting those, but this ball is the right combination of price and quality for outdoor play.The only negative is that the quality control seems poor. There's already a few places in the seams that look like I can easily peel off, and feel uneven. These things will lower the durability over time.

So I've tried about 4-5 other 'highly' rated outdoor basketballs on the market, and have usually been quite disappointed.I've even used old Wilson Evolutions as outdoor balls because those seem to have been a better option than most others.But now, I've found an outdoor basketball worth investing in!FYI, when I bought this ball, I actually used 2 other balls for the same duration of time to do some 'testing'. And though I initially fell in love with this ball, I still had the same love for this ball months after use.PROS:1. Durability - Most other outdoor basketballs you play with will either have a grip that feels really rubbery at initial use or really slippery after a few times on the court. After using this ball a couple times a week for a few months now, the ball still has good grip and has proven to maintain air pretty well.NO CONS

Play a lot of outdoor ball and was looking for one for that specific purpose. Did some research and case across this one, which many rave to be the best outdoor ball. Now, if you don't mind spending money on a good indoor ball like the Wilson Evolution/Solution to play outside, then have it and that's your best bet, though even then it won't last too long. Used this ball twice so far and it feels good - nice feel, good grip despite the dust, and has the right amount of bounce. So far we all love it. It's also a nice color and not too flashy or anything (no gold lettering). I'll update after a few months to see how it holds up. Keep in mind this comes in frustration free packaging from Amazon so it's just a brown box.

Definitely a good outdoor basketball. I used it almost 4 days a week over the summer in all types of weather. It feels as close as you can get to an indoor ball as an outdoor ball. For the amount I used it I would say it could hold up a little bit better, but it still has held up better than most outdoor balls I’ve used. I would definitely recommend this ball for someone looking for an indoor ball feel in an outdoor ball.

Excellent ball with great grip, impressive durability and small price make for a great value. My son swears by this ball after hours of constant use in the gym. We only play inside with this one. We have several other balls and none have held up as well as this particular Spalding. Other balls start off grippy, but lose the grip with increased wear, this ball, while not the grippiest to begin with, has kept its original feel more consistently than any of the others. It is a pleasure to dribble and shoot with. Highly recommended.

This one is by far the best ball for outdoor uses. It holds its texture, grip and doesnot faze like others. I have bought many different balls way more expensive but they do not hold up over times like this one. This is my second one bought. My first one is 3 years and still using it.

FYI, Spalding will no longer be the official game ball provider and manufacturer for the NBA beginning at the start of the 2021-22 season. Wilson will begin making the NBA game ball for the first time since 1983.This Spalding NBA Replica Indoor/Outdoor basketball is the best! I have 6 of these and don't plan to stop picking them up any time soon. The ball is soft to the touch with excellent grip and durability. I play on my mildly rough concrete home court and this ball holds up for months. When it starts to wear a little bit I pick up another. Don't waste your time, or money, buying another type, or brand, of indoor/outdoor basketball.

My friends and I use this ball all the time. The bounce is OK when it first arrived. A little on the low side but nothing a pump can't fix. After a solid 2 months of balling up, this product has remained reliable. The grip is REALLY good too. Not loose enough to slip right out of your hands but not course enough to remove your fingerprints.All in all, a great ball for a good price.
