I got this stamp to create over 100 homemade Hogwarts acceptance letters. The stamp is GREAT. However, unless you're only doing one stamp do NOT try to use the little wax sticks and tea light/spoon wax setup. It's super time consuming and not worth it.Instead...get red glue sticks! Put them through your hot glue gun for a MUCH quicker and cleaner experience.TIP: before stamping into hot wax, put your stamp into a ice water bath. We learned this after about envelope 20 and you can see a huge difference in the quality and clarity of the stamp. Without the ice bath, the stamp took a long time to dry and wax would get stuck in the Hogwarts emblum, both ruining the wax stamp and meaning we had to clean out the stamp itself. After using the ice bath, the wax took seconds to harden and came off clean every single time.

The final product was stunning. I got a compliment on the invitations from every single parent who RSVPd for their kid. The process was fun - kind of meditative. The down side was the wax sticks don’t have wicks so I’m not exactly sure how they were supposed to be used. I ended up chopping them up with a knife into chunks just big enough to fill the ladle when melted - I got 1-2 seals from each ladle being slightly skimpy on the wax. The ladle process is messy. When you pour the wax onto the paper it gets on the sides and bottom of the ladle and then burns when you re-melt it. It all worked fine though. Maybe I just didn’t know what I was doing? I’ll do more wax sealing but I’ll buy sticks with wicks in them to reduce the steps in the process and cut back on mess. Also, the stamp feels a bit larger than necessary - takes a fair amount of wax for a great, thick seal. Even with my learning curve I’d buy this again because the final product was fantastic!

I was excited when I came across this, because I was doing a Harry Potter themed Christmas tree this year, and wanted to do wax seals on my “fake” gift decorations and “letters”. Over all it’s a good product, the down side is once you stamp the wax, the printing is backwards. I contacted the seller and they had “no record” of my purchase, all I had asked for was a replacement stamp head because I wanted to use it for my actual Christmas cards to send out, but they gave me the run around with not finding my order. Instead of just wasting my money and not using it, I did use it for my decorative ideas, but sadly didn’t use them for my Christmas cards as Hogwarts was presented as “strawgoH” when stamped. Also, cuting the “wax” is very difficult. And if you try to melt straight from the wax stick, the wax starts to catch fire and burn and turns black. Other than that, it would be a great product.

I love ❤️ this whole set! The Hogwarts seal is spot on! It makes me want to send more letters out just so I can seal them! The seal itself is well constructed. The wooden handle feels great. The seal never felt loose or flimsy. I was surprised how much wax you needed to us in order to cover the whole seal.Working with this set for the first time and as first time wax sealer, I now understand that there are easier ways of applying hot wax than what they give you in this particular set. I ended up just heating the wax stick directly over the flame instead of using the metal spoon. There was some slight pigment augmentation due to that but i feel it was much faster and not as wasteful than using the spoon. I understand why you would want to purchase the pellets so you can melt the exact amount for your seal. I understand why they have created wax sealing candles to skip the spoon and open flame all together. Personally I prefer the hot glue gun wax method.

The media could not be loaded.  I have never done a wax seal in my life so this was a nice beginners kit to start with! Got this paired with some parchment envelopes and made my baby shower invites just a little more unique! I used all the wax and made all the envelopes plus a few practice ones. I will say I will buy the glue stick wax in the future as heating over the candle can be annoying and easily make bubbles in the wax. Overall I'm happy with the product for the price paid and it was a fun experience to do this. My husband and I had fun trying to make the best one and finding the best tactics. We got down a pretty efficient system towards the end, I do recommend you put the seal on a ziploc baggy of ice before placing on the wax so it cools the wax faster and do NOT move the seal for a good minute or so to ensure the wax has FULLY cooled. If it was a gift it comes in the nice box which adds a nice touch, but once you use the wax and candles it essentially takes up more space than needed. I do like that I will have that seal to do any future projects if I'd like which is awesome!

I really like the size of this stamp. I have used it multiple times and it always turns out well. The items in the box are all quality and easy to use. I marked on the side of my stamp with a permanent marker where the bottom center is to make it easier to get the stamp centered on the wax.

This came to me with a very frayed ribbon (attached to the box kit to close it) so is definitely NOT giftable.The seal works well with a nice impression if you can get enough wax drip. (I used wax from another merchant, so cannot say how the included wax works. Mine was hard and dripped very slowly, so it was difficult to get an impression made before the puddle began to set. But they look quite officially nice and this seal can be used many times in the future, and with other seals. Had the ribbon not been mutilated, I would have given this an outstanding rating, but I don't have time to return or replace before the party!

I love this set. I wasn't expecting much with the price and mostly just wanted to test out the process of wax seal stamps but I was really surprised. The only thing I recommend is using an actual candle instead of a tealight. I found the flame too small on the tealight. Or you can even use a small butane blow torch (like the ones for flaming desserts) and heat a small chunk in the spoon very gently and a little slowly. I wouldn't let the wax smoke which can happen if it heats too quickly or catches flame. But all in all love it. Even sent some of the cards by post and the seal didn't break!
