Speedball Akua Starter Kit

Blick has quality products. I was on an art project deadline. Akua is a brand I've used before with fabulous results. I love the ease of clean-up.Blick delivered sooner than expected. I was very pleased.

Awesome Akua inks. My school and I swear by these. They're awesome and can be cleaned up with water. They roll down well for relief printing, and work great for intaglio printing. I would recommend these inks for anyone. This starter set is perfect for someone just wanting to test the waters, or to learn about Akua inks.

Before reaching in the box to get the ink jars out, make sure they aren't leaking! I must have been sold a returned item- the black jar didn't have a safety seal and the lid wasn't screwed on tightly. All other jars had their original seals. I haven't been able to try the product out because now I have to spend my time cleaning up the mess it made. What a waste of ink!

Just be aware, the blue bottle hasn't stopped leaking. It was leaking form the cap when i got it. I ordered it even though I saw bad ratings because there is nothing better. The yellow was also leaking a bit but as long as you have a lot of Dawn dish soap, you'll be fine. Dawn dish soap you should have on hand anyways for this ink as it cleans it up the best (if not the only way. Best way to get colours even when you wont use them a lot. If you are getting these and have never used them before, PLEASE DO RESEARCH!!! I promise it will help you. These inks are not like block printing ink or alcohol ink.

Arrived super fast and on schedule! Have used Oil based printing inks in the past but wanted to go a non toxic route. Quick and easy clean up. The ink was smooth, not clumpy or watery, just right for a lino print. We did varying thicknesses of ink and a couple different papers to test;some pieces are already dry and its only been 12 hours! Recommended.

I know Akua is a good ink, no problem and it arrived sooner than estimated. It just arrived yesterday. However, I may have received a starter kit that had been opened because I've just spent the last 15 minutes washing the Phthalo Blue Liquid Pigment from my hands and will spend another 20 minutes cleaning up the other items that came in the kit. What a mess! Once I assess the lost I'll determine whether or not to return it. I like Akua inks and bought the starter because I wanted a couple of colors in smaller units and something to travel with to do collagraphs with my kids.

These are terrific inks. Versatile, great color. Layering is full of possibilities.
