What a good idea!
I'll tell you why I bought these just in case you have the same problem I did. It may have been obvious to everyone else and I'm just slow but anyway...I have a German Shepherd who goes pretty much goes everywhere with me. As a pup and young adult he stayed in the backseat of my cloth seated Civic whenever I would get out. Never even offered to get in the front seat. The Civic was wrecked and I got a leather interior VW GLI (4 door sedan) and from day one he started getting in the front seat when I got out of the car. The car is a lease so I feel like I need to take even better care of it than my Civic. I also really wanted to keep as much fur as possible out of the front seat. Gibbs (the dog in question) had other ideas entirely. After purchasing and trying several different seat protectors with the idea of finding one that went high enough between the two front seats to keep him in back I was at a loss. I was actually looking at getting a mesh barrier that would keep him contained. I really didn't want to look like a police car and I just didn't like the idea but he was scratching the dash, turning on the hazard lights and drooling in the front seat as soon as I got out. Solution? Seat belt. He wears a harness to walk and the ring for a leash is on the front. I got this seat belt and buckled it into the middle of the backseat. I figured out how far I was willing to let him go, adjusted it to that length, put him in the car, fastened it to him and voila! A dog that has to stay in the backseat but can still get to windows and close enough to lick me. This belt is easy to adjust and is very sturdy. For my purposes it wouldn't work with a collar that could be backed out of but the harness works great with it. I feel kind of stupid for not having thought of it before but at least I finally did. As a bonus, I feel like he is safer and more secure in the car if there's a wreck or anything.

Good fit
I’ve had this over 2 years and they hold up very well. I have a RAV4 and this fits the safety buckle. The only time that it comes unbuckled is when my dog steps on the buckle release, which only happened 2 times. Otherwise, I feel that my dog is safe on the back seat with this attached.

Excellent
Excellent! These work perfectly. We've used them in my husbands 1998 Honda Civic. Product clicked into place easily and securely. Just to make sure they had in fact clicked into place I gave each belt a very hard yank to make sure that they were in fact locked into place. My dogs are small/med. (Formosan Mountain Dogs) one weighs 26lbs and one weighs 36lbs. The seat belt attached to their harnesses keeps them safely in place. I don't have to worry about them escaping out a door as someone enters or exits. People should understand that in a traffic accident there is no such thing as a perfect restraint for your pets. Even if you've done everything correctly- a harness with a dog seat belt attached TO THE HARNESS (not their collar- you would snap their neck) they can still potentially be tossed around. With the proper restraint it should prevent them from being ejected out of the vehicle. This seems to be a well made product. ( I am capable of making my own but just decided it was faster to purchase.) I like that it has metal keepers and not plastic and I also like that it's made from US steel. Price and service were both excellent.

Excellent product
We have had this product now for several years and I can’t help it. Say that has lasted longer then the time that I would expect to. We have use this with my dog from the weight of 50 to 75 pounds and it has stopped him from moving around the car and also keeping him safe. Eclipse right into your seatbelt and then the other end clicks to your dogs collar. It’s very simple to use and seems to be universal. I absolutely would not hesitate to buy this again. And the fact that I get two is excellent because I have one in each of my cars. You won’t regret buying this product.

Great way to keep your pet safe.
We have a great dog, and we love to take him for rides with us. Unfortunately, cars don't come with seat belts for dogs. Maybe Subaru does. I keep seeing a commercial of dogs driving their cars. Even if the car came with dog seat belts, it's unlikely they'd fit Iggy The Wonder Dog who is at his Winter Weight at 16 lbs. He couldn't drive anyway, because his feet don't reach the pedals.Silliness aside, until we bought these the only way to keep Iggy safe in the car was to put him in his crate and belt the crate into the car. This causes several problems: taking a dog for a ride while they are in a box takes all the enjoyment away from him, and he lets us know it. Also, if you seatbelt a crate into the back seat of a car, you won't have room for much else (if you drive a small car, as I do). Driving around with a crying dog and trying to shove people or stuff into the small space left by the crate doesn't make me happy. These make us happy. Iggy wears a harness when in the car, and these well-made nylon seat belt attachments fit right into our seat belt and clip onto the harness. I would recommend using a harness, because in case of accident (heaven forbid), all the force of deceleration would be on the dog's neck if the seat belt was attached to a collar. By attaching the seat belt to the back loop of a harness, the force is spread over the dog's body.I also want to give a good word for the people at Friends Forever. The dog seat belt arrived almost immediately after we ordered it, and we got a lovely email asking if we were happy with it. Great customer service.
