The Grid: The Master Model Behind Business Success : Watkinson, Matt: desertcart.ae: Books Review: As an experienced UX Designer I have been using Matt Watkinson's first book, The 10 Principles Behind Great Customer Experiences, as a basis for my design approach for some time now. Because of his friendly, accessible tone and real-world examples, it's been easy to put these principles into practice to the point that they are ingrained in all that I do. Therefore, as someone who now manages two businesses and leads numerous projects each year, I was thrilled to pick up his latest endeavour. As I worked through the book I found myself nodding along to common problems so many of my projects have faced, which of course I'd never really considered - because it's 'not my job', and because I didn't have a good enough understanding to be able to. I think that many people reading this book will find that there's one or two chapters that they know well, and the remaining chapters a fascinating and informative look into all of the other component parts that make up both projects and business ventures. I finished my first read-through already with actions in mind as to how I could improve my business operations, and am now referring back to the appropriate chapters to guide my way through implementation - as well as recommending this to the rest of the board! To conclude, I would recommend - and I have been recommending - this book to anyone in any role on any project. While incredibly useful for anyone trying to run a business (large or small), it's also fantastic to help you consider, and support, all the other puzzle pieces that need to fall into place for a successful project. Review: Great

This does not read like your regular boring business book. It feels like Matt Watkinson is sitting across from you, walking you through all the fundamental and advanced aspects of every part of your own business in person. Here's the crazy thing: while you are getting the education of a lifetime and becoming an expert yourself, you are also being entertained – Matt is a genius with a thorough sense of humor. If you are reading The Grid and are not having a serious light-bulb-moment every few pages, you're probably ready to write your own book.
