Nice stainless steel bowl
I wanted a new salad spinner because my old zyliss broke. It had fallen off a high shelf and the clear plastic bowl cracked straight through. When looking for a new one, a stainless steel bowl seemed like a good idea so that at least if it fell it wouldn't break. When I received the this new one the first thing I noticed was the increased weight. Of course a stainless steel bowl would be heavier. Other than that I am happy with this spinner. The bowl is beautiful.

substandard product at a premium price
failed after three uses. Save your money and buy a spinner with a pull cord; I've had two that lasted several years. This one lasted a couple of months, the gears inside the mechanism seemingly stripped -- but who knows, because it's sealed in hard plastic and impossible to take apart. The aluminum bowl has a nice rubber base, so after your throw away all the broken plastic parts, you have a very expensive aluminum bowl.

Not worth it, cheap toy spinner, broke after a week
The SS bowl, and basket are high quality. But the pump mechanism is cheap, and poorly made, like a child’s toy. After 3 uses, upon pushing the lever, the lever skips a “tooth” or “gear” and slips badly, it make a horrible noise, as if it’s breaking internally. After 6 months, and more and greater slippage, the lever no longer functions properly, rendering the spinner useless. The disparity between the high quality bowl and basket, and the utterly cheap and throw-away quality of the spinner is striking. I had been looking for a really high quality salad spinner. This is NOT it. Oh, and completely non-existent customer service too. Don’t waste your time. Find something else. Unless you want to pay triple for a very nice salad bowl and colander with a cheap toy spinner that might function for a week.

Spinner works great but when the brake is applied small pieces of plastic are sheared off and can fall in the salad.

The best salad spinner.
This is the best lettuce spinner that I have ever used. I have used two other brands and this is the most durable and best looking kitchenware. I have arthritis in my hands and the handle is so easy to use. Press the handle with two fingers and there's no stress or pain in your joints. Plus the bowl is so heavy and sturdy that you don't have to hold on to the bowl to spend your greens.

Buy it for the bowl
Love the stainless steel bowl. Yes, I use it to clean salad stuff, but the large stainless steel bowl is great for mixing stuff in as well. It's really big! It has a "rubber like" ring on the bottom that keeps it from sliding around when you are working whatever you are mixing. I'm not sure how much temperature it can take before damaging the ring on the bottom....so I'm keeping it for cool stuff (cake batters/ect).As a salad spinner, the lever action works like a champ. The BPA free plastic basket sits about 1/2" above the bottom, and it'll wring your lettuce dry in a jiff.

I gave this product to long of a trial, thinking maybe I was doing something wrong. It has never worked well and lettuce is always still soaking wet. The spinner is not fast enough and now after a few months it no longer catches and will only spin very little. I loved the stainless steel at first but it is just not worth anything as a spinner.

Maestoware Salad Spinner
Excellent. It is sturdy, large enough to spin a salad for eight, mechanism is perfect for spinning very fast and stores easily.
