Simple to use and seems very accurate. The thin tip results in very fast temperature reading. For me, works much better than several much more expensive thermometers that I have had. Would recommend.UPDATE (Jan 2022): checked temperature calibration in ice water and boiling water. Temperatures still right on. Maintaining accuracy over several years.

The thermometer is fine, however. It did need calibration before use. I tested it before calibration, and boiling distilled water registered as 214.3°F. Since I accept or reject raw meat and egg mix based on this thermometer, that's bad. After calibration per instructions, it performed flawlessly.

Coworkers already had one of these so I knew it was a good buy. Haven’t had any need to re-calibrate and I love that it’s waterproof. Works perfectly!

No problems and easy to use.

Attempted to use in a food plant. It would work for a while before the display faded out and quit working. This was not part of the power saving feature. Changed the battery twice with known good cells but no improvement. This is the worst purchase I've made from Amazon.

I bought this to be "food safe" compliant. Passed with flying colours. It read exactly the same as what the inspector's temp reading was.

I really like this thermometer. The only thing I don't like about it is that this is NOT instant read. It takes approximately 10-15 seconds to get the final temperature.
