Electro-HarmonixBass Clone Bass Chorus Pedal

I am a bassist with over 25 years of experience who owns or has owned many chorus pedals. This one, in my opinion, is a big winner, especially for the price. first of all, it just sounds good. And, while I know some people hate this word, like most EXH pedals, to me it just has that "Mojo". It's capable of creating inspiring, musical effects at pretty much every setting, from subtle to drastic. I feel like you could practically leave this effect on all the time!Bass chorus vs standard chorus? What's the difference? When you plug a bass into a regular chorus pedal, you generally lose a lot of your low end frequencies, so using chorus is a trade off. With this pedal there is a X-over which, when engaged, lets the bass frequencies pass through the pedal unaffected by the chorus. So you get the sweet warbling chorus effect on your high frequencies, but your bass still has fat low end. Very cool.Additionally there are tone controls, so you can also fatten up your sound with the bass control, or add/remove high end sparkle with the high eq control.In general I would highly recommend this pedal. It's inexpensive, sounds great, and the build quality so far seems solid. I did a video demo review of the Bass Clone but amazon will not allow links. I specifically focused on demonstrating what the crossover does to the signal when engaged/disengaged, and went through and showed the range of parameters possible by twiddling the knobs.I think for the price you really can't go wrong with this. Sounds great on guitar too.

These pedals are do a thing! I can't say the thing is incredible versatile but I love it none the less. It really does a nice job of maintaining the tonal integrity of your bass while adding a thick luxurious blanket of chorus. I've been mostly matching it up with my fretless and it's a perfect match. It sounds great no matter the setting and is super-easy to use. Like most EH stuff, it's very quiet when in and out of the chain and super-well built. And finally; for the price this bass chorus can't be beat...even if you add it to your already large collection of choruses! Enjoy.

I needed a pedal that matched the chorus tone from a plug-in I used mixing a particular song. I took a gamble because this is fairly "cheap" but had the right toggles. Glad I did it, because I was able to dial in several different chorus' I use on different songs. Believe it or not, it actually sounds pretty cool on regular guitar too, with or without the crossover. On bass the crossover is really handy to keep the bass tones from pulsing or sounding a little muddy.

So unfortunately in Las Vegas both guitar center and sam ash does not carry anything worth having for bass products, just about everything has to be ordered online so I have to take chances on what I order and hope for the best. I've done a lot of research for chorus pedals and after finally making my decision I choose the bass clone. It does everything is says it does. Gives a great chorus sound without sacrificing your low end. I would recommend it.

This pedal is so hissy, it's unpleasant for practicing bass. I certainly cannot use it for recording, the main point of my purchase. I know chorus pedals can add a bit of noise, but this is excessive. I contacted EHX within the warranty period via email, but they aren't responsive and didn't return my emails. This pedal is effectively e-waste and useless. I won't buy another EHX pedal, and I'm terribly disappointed in this supposedly great company.

It loses stars for being noisy and the switch makes a loud click when it's engaged. You are definitely going to need a noise gate in your chain if you want to use this. It's a shame because I usually like EHX products. I do like the crossover. The chorus also sounds good. The only downside is what I previously mentioned. I will try it with my noisegate and bass equalizer with the high frequency cut down.

Pedal is not quiet at all, does hiss when effect is on and pops loudly when engaged. Will not be able to use this for a live show which is a shame because the effect is really good, best chours I have found yet.

I've been hanging with this for about a month now. I gotta say it's really awesome. i just love to leave it on basically all the time. It never gets old, it can go from suttle clone chorus sound to warble town. The bass knob is completely insane. Never heard that much bass boost in any pedal. Essential if you want a post punk/new wave bass sound. Besides the actual small clone (which I use religiously on guitar) it is the best affordable and most usable pedal I have ever purchased

A good quality Bass Chorus pedal. I have tried several of the slightly cheaper brands available but found they cut the low-end from the sound. This pedal handles my 5 String Ibanez with all of the low-end thump from the low B kept intact.The Cross-over switch allows you to remove the chorus effect from the low end whilst maintaining it on the higher frequencies. Combining this option with the bass and treble knobs gives a really flexible sound range from this pedal.It seems to be fairly robustly made with an all metal box and it has already played several gigs (reasonably heavy rock music) and recorded a short EP in a pro studio with no problems. The switch can be a bit noisy the first few times but a couple of rapid presses on the switch soon remedied that issue. I would have no hesitation in purchasing another one if this one was lost or damaged.

I've been using a cheap behringer multi fx for my chorus up to getting this and the bass clone is in an entirely different league, which i hoped it would be. I don't put much stock on bass only pedals usually but this is definitely worth it.
