This is a very sturdy tie out line. The metal closures are hefty, but my little 10 pound dog doesn't seem to notice the extra weight of the clasp and has no trouble moving around with 40 feet of line trailing behind her. I wouldn't attach the line to her collar because my dog likes to run full speed at whatever she sees in the yard. She seems to forget that she will come to a sudden stop when she reaches the 40 foot limit. I always attach the line to a safety harness to prevent injury and keep her secure. I regularly check the attachment point where the cable and clasp come together, but I doubt my little dog will ever be able to apply enough force to compromise the integrity of this tie out line. This is a high quality product and I'm sure it will last a long time.

Within a year this cable was all twisted and discolored.Bought this as an extra cable for our pup. It has lasted and has not broken, but its so twisted, kinked up, faded and just needs to be replaced. It only last about a year.

Colors are awesome, sturdy, metal hook for leash to hook to which I like. Will purchase from again!

did you know deer are color blind and cannot see red or green. they can see blue. My take on the picture was too quick thinking the mainline was blue. it wasn't. it was perfect except it was red. already had a deer run into a red one. Made a real mess of my run and am pretty sure the deer wasnt so happy either. Blue is almost impossible to locate. I would think if folks have room for a 50" run deer could be an issue. I ended up spraying mine blue. Will see how long that lasts. (Deer cannot see orange like hunters wear but can pick out the blue jeans with no problem...courtesy of Google.)

The cable is not quite as heavy duty as I was anticipating, but plenty strong enough to hold my 35 pound enthusiastic puppy. I gave the product 5 stars because they sent me two for the price of one, so even if the tie-out doesn't last as long as heavier ones, I have a free replacement.

Unfortunately this tangles fairly easy. But aside from that it seems well made.
