Deck is done...
These screws are great. When used with the Kreg Deck Jig, they do a great job of holding down the deck. They hold well and their color blends with the wood quite nicely. Works well for making outdoor furniture as well... These screws may not be stainless, but they are coated and stand up well to the weather.

Great screws. They work very well with the Kreg decking jig system.
Although it takes some extra time to install using the hidden screw head method, it's definitely worth it. So far I've encountered one defective screw head out of 1400 - not too bad!

This Jig/Screw system is AWSOME
These Screws, when used properly with the Deck Jig, will actually hold your board down better (and flatter) than screwing face down in the traditional fashion. They hold the boards from both side and prevent any warping of the board edges. They also resist the eventual raising of the boards due to freeze/thaw durring winter. I've had them in for 4 winters on a cedar deck, and haven't had one instance of the board lifting, or warping. When used properly, with the Jig, they are awsome. I can't imagine why someone would use them without the jig though. The extra length on the bit is for that very purpose (the bit needs to be that long or it won't work with the Jig). I've built many decks, and after I used these one time, I'll never go back to the old method. The look is so clean it's worth the slight extra time.

Use with the deck jig
I got the Kreg Deck Jig to put on new composite decking on my deck. It said that 700 screws will do a 10' x 20' deck, the deck I was doing was a 8' x 36', about 88 sq. feet larger than one box should cover. The box covered about 285 sq. feet using 12' boards. I like that you don't see the screws and they hold very tight when using the deck jig. They go in easy with the self drilling point. I had to put some in on the face of the decking along the house and with the small heads you have to look hard to see them, just don't counter sink them, leave them flush with the surface of the decking.

Impressed
I tried these on a 14x18 deck in PT. I used the Kreg Deck Jig too, I had one screw break out the entire box, BUT that was also the second time I removed and reused that screw due to a client mind change. Not a huge fan that Kreg uses their own driver, but that’s business and it worked well. The one included is pretty long so if you need it for tight spaces try to find a short driver bit

Good Product
The screws work well. I just installed a large amout of wood decking using these screws and they worked good to secure the deck boards. They won't hold down the deck boards like a regular deck screw driven straight into the boards, but they do hold it secure. Will have to see how well the small heads hold down the boards over time/prevent the boards from cupping. I think these screws and the Kreg Deck Jig would be ideal for composite decking; jury is still out (for me) for use with wood decking. The Kreg Deck Jig and these screws do what they say in terms of keeping the screws and holes out of sight on decking. Makes for a nice, smooth, undisturbed top surface on your deck boards.

Hidden screws
I use these screws with my Kreg deck jig. The boards are held down tight and the screws do not show.Easy to carry container. The screws are coated for use in treated wood. I use two cordless drills. One for the drill and one for the dcrew bit.Good price and great value.

Brittle Screws Break After a Season
My wife and I used the Kreg Deck Jig and these screws to install our hardwood deck. The Jig is excellent. The screws, not so much.On installation, we had very few issues. The deck jig provides pilot holes and these went in easily. The problem was apparent in spring of the following year: a couple seasons of wood movement was enough to snap the screws. They do not bend, nor are they strong enough to hold as the wood moves. Over 1/3 of the screws snapped, and the boards of the deck became loose. This is made worse by where they break: at the joint between the decking and the framing. The threads of the screw sink into the framing, leaving a smooth shank in the decking. This means when you try to back out the screws - you can't. They just spin in place. It's been a few years now and well over half the screws are now broken, the decking is loose, and I've only been able to replace a few of them.Do not buy these screws - they are just too brittle. I suspect most reviews are written after installation. Had I written this review after the deck build, I'd have given them five stars. But they don't last. Invest in higher quality screws - don't let them be the weak point on your deck investment.
