Nice, well made.
Well balanced, nice feel, good length. It IS a little heavy, so beware of that before you buy it. I'm a fiddle player who dabbles in Bodhran (in the privacy of my own home, so no worries...I'm not out destroying sessions with my bohdran), but of the three tippers I've tried, this is my favorite.

IMPRESSIVE, slim, dense and smooth!
I have or have made several tippers, beaters and I'm even working on making or acquiring a whipper. I can tell you this tipper is sleek/slim and arrived as pictured with the knob on each end and two sloped knobs on the shaft. At the same time, it's dense and smooth. I am IMPRESSED! This is a wonderful addition for playing the bodhran. Outstanding.

Totally pleased!
As a complete beginner to the bodhrán, I didn't know one tipper from another. I chose this one based on another positive review, and it just made sense to me that this style would be a good one - oval cross section in the grip area, raised areas towards the ends for reference, and somewhat smaller knobs as compared with the tipper that came with my drum. A rubber band tied around the center of any tipper can go far towards preventing slipping while also giving a changeable "set point" (credit to Michelle Stewart for this great idea). I can recommend this tipper without reservations. I would only add that, while a good fit and comfortable, this tipper doesn't noticeably improve my playing. I feel sure there are many excellent tippers and that ultimately it's just a matter of finding what works best for you. [Later note: I bought a second one of these which was also very nice but does not have the oval cross section - not a deal breaker but good to know.]

The Perfect Tipper
Wow! I have played with a number of different tippers over the years and until ordering this one, had different ones I preferred to use with each of my bodhrans. Never mind how it fits your hand, a tipper can be too heavy or too light for a specific drum, too short or too long to be usable with another if you're trying for the best tones. This one is perfect on all scores! I'll still carry my old ones to gigs as spares in case something happens, but the Roosebeck is going to be my go-to from here on.

Like the finish, weight, and usability of this tipper.
I like the finish, weight, and feel of this tipper. It is easy to hold and use. Also appealing in appearance. Price was reasonable and shipping fast. I found that this tipper made it easier for me to learn how to play.

Much better than the one that came with my bodhrán
I'm a complete beginner to the bodhrán. A few months ago a bought an inexpensive one (see my review of "Trophy Bodhran 14 in") and I've been enjoying it. The tipper that came with it seemed short, and I couldn't play triplets because my hand got in the way. I finally bought this tipper instead. What a difference! It sounds better and feels better, and within minutes I was playing triplets. The shape also seems to help prevent slipping.Since I have almost no experience, I can't compare this tipper to other tippers you might buy. But I can tell you that it's so much better than the one that came with the bodhrán! If you get a bodhrán that comes with a tipper, and you're having a hard time with it, try this tipper instead.

Good Weight and Well Balanced
Just getting to play my drum with this beater and so far it works fine. It is balanced well, smooth on the ends and a little less so in the middle which provides better grip. There are many different types and styles of Bodhran beaters and this a very common one for all levels. Well made of Rosewood, it should hold up as long as I do. LOL

Not a bad tipper!
I lost the original tipper that came with my entry-level bodhran I received as a gift years back. Joined a folk band and I immediately had a use for the drum again. Needed a new tipper and this one works just fine. Hopefully I won't lose this one!
