Is it possible to get this microfiber cloth in a smaller size, approximately 6 in x 6 in?

6X6 is too small, go the 12X12 that is the right size for most jobs.

What material are these made eith?

On the tag they are listed as 87% Polyester 13 % Polymide. Feel like thin sweatpants. Was surprised didn't have cotton in them because they have a cotton feel to them. Make sure you get some with hemming on them. Have washed several time and still look good.

Why do these say not to tumble dry?

If you use fabric softener or dry them with dryer sheets they don't absorb water at all after. I've dried in my dryer wo dryer sheets after drying a regular load of laundry & still didn't absorb well after. When I wash just with soap & air dry, they absorb well.
