Bungalow Style: Creating Classic Interiors in Your Arts and Crafts Home

My dad loves authentic craftsmen style homes and is a master at woodworking in this style. He loved this book as a Christmas gift!

I bought this book because I wanted to learn the basics of decorating an interior in Craftsman style. Keeping in mind this is not a huge book. it covers both interiors and exteriors in the way that a course on the subject would and this was much appreciated. The subject of the pictures are well chosen and the photo quality and printing in the book are very good.

Loved this book. It shows a lot of what I find in the house my sister is remodeling and so helps to keep it in the tradition

Taunton Press is known for excellent home-related books. Even so, Treena Crochet exceeded my expectations and even my hopes. My home in Port Angeles, WA (the first I've ever owned, at age 70) is a small, very blah 1947 bungalow, but this book gave me many ideas from this more interesting architectural period to give it character, from drawer pulls and kitchen bathroom cabinet hardware and faucets to light fixtures, outdoor light fixtures and door handles, to furniture. Even with my very limited budget, my little house now has a lot more charm and character.

Beautiful book that will keep you up all night dreaming of your ideal bungalow. Nice historical facts and explanations of why design features are unique to these gorgeous homes. Great coffee table book!

Nice quality book with pretty pictures. Didn't find it all that inspiring for its intended use in designing a new house, but great ideas if you were remodeling a bungalow - so I sent it back No problems at all with returning though I did have to pay shipping because it wasn't a problem with the product. That is Amazon's policy and I knew that when I bought

Overall, I find this book enjoyable. However, at least one reviewer needs to point out that, presumably because an insufficient quantity of photographs was available at the time the book was in its final editing stage, a number of photographs are simply shown repetitively in this book. For example, the photo on the front cover of the dust jacket appears two times. A window seat demonstrating built-in HVAC appears twice, and a "mudroom" with children's clothes appears twice. There may be others-I noticed these with only a single cursory glance-through.We buy books like these primarily for their rich photography. This practice of duplication is inappropriate for both the author and the publisher.

This book was invaluable for me in helping to choose decor and colors for my craftsman home. It is full of great pictures of the craftsman style of interior architecture and design, and was a treasure trove of pictures.For a style that isn't the most modern, and can be hard to find good examples online of how to properly and authentically style a craftsman home, this book is tops!

An American book on Arts and Crafts- American style. Inspiring images, page after page detailing everything from floors to windows, furnishings, etc. A very nice book to study and get that authentic American Arts and Crafts look.

この本は、アメリカで２０世紀初頭に建てられた家のリノベーションのための参考モデル紹介を目的にしてるようです。所謂バンガローがウッドデッキ付き平屋別荘であるのに対して、この本に扱われる居宅は金のかかったとてもハイセンスで色褪せない職人仕事の様に見えます。そう大使館官邸みたいに。「の様に見える」というのは、アメリカの通販文化を知ってしまってるので、それぞれのパーツが存外通販の大量生産品かも？と思っちゃったりするからですが、いやぁー贅沢だわ。溜息が出ます。自分は数えてませんが、３００枚以上の図や写真、意匠、アイデアが入ってるそうです。
