Pricy but worth it
This seemed like a pricy item for the basic function of holding shells but this is totally worth it. It is sturdy, mounts perfectly on a 590 (specifically a shockwave), and holds the shells securely. Don't make a mistake by buying something cheaper because this is what you should get. Mounting hardware fits perfectly, installation instructions were clear. Keep in mind this is all plastic but seems thoroughly durable and, more importantly, doesn't add weight.

Perfect fitment on Mossberg 500. Included extras.
Perfect fit on my Mossberg 500. It came with a practice "snap cap" which is super cool! Also came with all the hardware needed to mount it. Highly recommend for the price! I will for sure be buying another one for my 870 Wingmaster. Also, other Reviews show the shell holders. Being rubber. This one is hard plastic with rubber inserts and have great shell retention.

Best side saddle I've used.
Fits perfectly on the Remington 870 Tactical, shells are tight at first but seem to have broken in good after a few uses. Easy to install and remove, quality hardware included. Only complaints are: 1) There's no pad between the saddle and receiver but electrical tape fixes that. 2) There's a tiny gap towards the front due to flex if tightened down to much but hardly noticable.Overall, its the best saddle I've owned a d would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality side saddle for a fair price.

Very sturdy, but a little stiff
I've got this mounted on my Maverick 88. Installation was pretty easy (I'm a novice shotgun user). The flexible hard plastic that holds the shells are rather stiff. I've read suggestions to apply a little bit of Vaseline on the inside, then shove the brass of shells all the way through the carrier so that the plastic stretches just a bit. The practice shell that comes with it doesn't have a large brass, so it's easy to pull out of carrier. Regular shells, if pushed all the way in, are much more difficult to pull out.I used this side saddle at the range. If you don't shove the shells all the way, they become easy to pull out with average effort. I would not recommend these for speed shooting. I'd recommend these for a secure hold if you are expecting to run with the shotgun or swing it around. The shells will NOT come loose or fall out. This side saddle will for sure hold your shells in, plus will not deteriorate like elastic does.I'm very happy with this purchase and will not seek to replace it. I will only recommend the elastic shell carriers if you plan on speed reloading.Note: I purchased this item around the same time my wife purchased this item for me also. Fortunately, my item got lost in the mail, so the customer service was very proactive and offered a replacement or refund. I took the refund, but was so impressed with the shell holder I had to write this review.

Shell carriers loosened after 50 rounds
Construction feels solid and was easy to install. However 1st range visit practicing tactical reloads which is what the side saddle is designed for, the rubber pieces that make your shells fit snug degenerated to the point that the shells will fall out if you turn the shotgun upside down. I would have probably spent a little more money and got something better had I known it was made this cheaply. If you’re never gonna use it for what it’s for, go for it!

Tacstar side saddle for mossberg
This is my 14th Tacstar side saddle I have bought for my Mossberg shotguns and still have them all and they have all functioned flawlessly weather it be the 2 3/4 shells or the mini shells they stay in the saddle without any worry, during hunts, or drills and training. I absolutely recommend this side saddle over any other brands side saddle

Nice product but limits some things on my Shockwave
Well made slimline 6 shell holder. Fits Mossberg 590 Shockwave with no mods. Only problem is cannot use Voodoo Scabbard with any shell holders attached. Also a distraction for me when holding shotgun. Just something with potential to snag on something in a pinch. Prefer clean sides on shotgun for left or right hold. Great product but I am sticking with my Voodoo Breacher Scabbard which has a 4 shell holder on it. Also attached a 25 round 12GA ammo pouch to Molle straps on Scabbarad. This setup gives me 5 in the Shockwave + 29 slugs on the Scabbard. Much better storing that way for when needed. The SideSaddle would limit me to 5 in the shotgun + 6 for a total of 11, and cannot use a Scabbard. When compared to without SideSaddle for a total of 29 available rounds compared to 11. The Shockwave is better off without ad-ons. I did change out the safety to a ProMag, Talon Grip and the snap on the barrel fiber optic sight.
