Do not buy.
Bought two of these for a electric brewing set up. Properly attached to a heat sink.Relays had 22 amps on them at 240 volts. Relay was rated for 40 amps. Started to fail (and smoke) after an hour. Please avoid.

Small and totally silent
I used one of these inside one of two 800 watt Marley baseboard heater's end compartment for remote turn-on. I wired the thermostat to power the first heater directly and it also powers a tiny 5v DC power supply which sends 5 volts via a small wire over to more distant heater. This silently switches the second heater on when the thermostat calls for heat and switches the first heater on.

Did not work out of the box
Applied 12v to input and the AC side did not close. No continuity at all. I tried a 5A power supply at 12v first and it didn't work so I tried a 12 v battery and it still didn't work. The led for input power did come on so I know it is getting power.

Fits ssr40 - DA
I had an ssr40-DA in use for controlling my electric smoker. It was getting very hot so ordered this heat sync to help dissipate the heat. The mounting holes aligned with the holes in the ssr, which was the only concern I had. You will have to provide mounting screws. I'm not sure what size, but they are metric.

Works Great - Gets hot
Works just like it should. I'm sure you're probably wondering if this thing will melt and start a fire.I'm driving 2 500w heaters using it and it does a great job. It does get warm when using it so I put a heatsink and a fan on it. The heatsink is quite warm to the touch but not hot. Even without the heatsink, driving a single 500w heater it was hot but I could keep my hand on it. The heat seems proportional to the load but not positive so if you are driving a smaller load you may not need to dissipate the heat.
