Avenger C1000 Drop-Ceiling Scissor Clamp

It clamps to drop ceilings and doesn't fall down. What else it there to say? It makes me feel good about my life choices? Sure, let's go with that. My life now has meaning, thanks to this scissor clamp. How did I ever survive without it?

We were able to mount Bowen Travel Lites with soft boxes from regular drop ceiling grids for perfect use and clearance. Have never loosened with the weight of heads and soft boxes hanging from ceiling. One of the heads is kind of in the way in our application and I have bumped into it several times without it coming loose from ceiling. The ceiling is at an 8 foot height. If you have a 10 foot ceiling height you won't encounter this.

This product works as expected. No issues.

Needed one of these for a light at my studio. We ran out of the ones we had and needed one for the next day. Pleasantly surprised by the quality, and would likely buy again. Could use a few more.

The scissor clamp attaches easily to any drop-ceiling metal channels, the things in the shape of an upside-down "T" that the panels lay on. Just slightly lift up the panels to reveal the metal channel and open the scissor clamp to fit it along the channel. Close the scissor clamp over the "T" and turn the stud to lock the clamp. I've used it to attach super mafer clamps ( Super Mafer and Pin ) and studio lights with 5/8" receivers ( Kupo Baby 5/8-Inch (16mm) Receiver for 3 & 4 Way Clamp, KG005912 ) to the ceiling in office spaces for digital film shoots. With enough of these you can create your own studio grid in any office. This Avenger product is nice and sturdy.

This product is designed to hang a light from a drop-ceiling when shooting on location. It does exactly that. Avenger's reputation did not disappoint. If you want to hang anything other than a film-industry light from this clamp, you might be disappointed, cause it wasn't designed with that function in mind.

Here's a no brainer: Make the spud part not so slippery, so it can be gripped easily after being tightened down hard. Minus 2 stars for that.

This connects to a drop ceiling pretty easily, but doesn't stay perpendicular to the ceiling. It seems like it will hold a lot of weight, but the weight should be balanced so the drop ceiling piece doesn't twist.

Attention avec la manipulation. La fixation est très dure et je me suis déjà coincé les doigts. Portez bien vos gants. Sinon c'est extrêmement pratique pour suspendre des projos ou autres appareils aux plafonds des entreprise (après avec demandé l'accord au responsable technique).

Clamp works well. Is easy to install in seconds and securely attaches to ceiling grid.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. if you need to rig something to a drop ceiling then this is the perfect unit for ya, just be careful not to overload it and you should be fine. always ensure that you read instructions carefully and that you or those operating this equipment are confident and trained on how to do so safely.
