works perfectly fine as a charging cable, I'm just an idiot that didn't read it doesn't transfer data.

It works
Update: I received feedback from Nextbase and showed them pictures of the cable and how tight it fits into the window mount. They responded back and said it looks fine to them and the agree but power is being supplied. I had to detached the base form the piece that the cable would plug into to make it fit. But it is plugged and and power is being supplied. So all good and it's plenty long to go from my USB to the dash cam.
