Sellers will probably hate for this tutorial, but buyers will definitely love it.
Great product but most people quickly discover that these cartridges go fairly quickly and it gets annoying, getting them at $5 or more each.I have seen all sorts of methods to reuse these but manufacturer is not as bad as many portray them to be, these are reusable, you just need to know how to get them open.Top portion is glued in by small amount of glue and depending on the batch you get glue maybe stronger or weaker. If you apply force properly you will be able to pop the top open and then they become very easy to refill and reuse.Tightly grab the filter and press upwards on the top part only above the black O-ring, you may need to apply decent amount of pressure and rotate it trying different spots but eventually glue will give and top section will pop off. If its not giving, put it in some very hot water for a while and try it that way.Once the top comes off you will need to tap it upside down to get seal and cap out, make sure you keep all parts. Then wash it and dry all parts and grab some food grate powered vitamin C. this stuff is very fine, so after you fill it tap it to pack it better and once full add bit of water to the top, to prevent power from moving and pack it in(important to pack it in or it will dissolve much faster) below the line where cap will sit. Then put the cap and top back, don't forget cloth looking filter, installed O-ring will seal it and keep everything secure, no need to add glue, filter gets pushed from the top and bottom when in use and will stay together.Photos below and you are welcome.

This really works!
While this was a refill order, I originally purchased the "starter kit" with shower head almost one year ago. Prior to purchasing this product, I started noticing my skin itching after showers. As the itching become worse and more prolonged, I tried different moisturizers, soaps, and even supplements desperate to find relief. While I was at a natural food store, looking for something to try, I mentioned the itching to the homeopathic practitioner, and she told me about a vitamin C filter that would filter out the chemicals in the water that may have been causing a reaction. I found the Sonaki website and ordered the shower head and filter. Within one week the itching just stopped. I didn't replace the filters once they ran, and just went without them for about three months. Over the last few weeks, I started noticing the extreme skin itching and irritation after every shower. I ordered the refills, and after my third shower, the itching has completely stopped. In addition, my hair is less frizzy and my skin is softer. I'll never run out again. This product has been a lifesaver!

Works fine--specifically for chloramine removal though...
One of the important things to keep in mind with these shower filter inserts for the Sonaki hand held shower wand is that performance will vary depending on both the condition of the water in your specific area and also whether one is using in conjunction with them a primary NSF-certified shower filter designed to remove chlorine and other particulates first that the Sonaki wand with these vitmain C inserts can then attach to after that to address chloramine removal specifically. These two main factors appear to be the primary reason for the mixed reviews of their performance. The way I came to know of these filter inserts was via an NSF-certified filter company who recommended the Sonaki hand held wand attachment/w vitamin C filter inserts. The reason for the recommendation at the time I first purchased the main filter was due to the fact that the filter I was buying already addressed chlorine removal and other harmful particulates, but not chloramine removal specifically which is where the vitamin C inserts came in to complete the picture. So, if one does not already have a main filter in their shower designed to remove chlorine and other substances first, there could potentially be an undue amount of stress put on the vitamin C filters in the shower wand to remove all chlorine as well as chloramines---which it will do, but the preformance will most likely suffer tremendously as a result depending on the specific levels of chlorine/chloramine in one's local water. If the filter inserts are only having to handle the residual chloramines that a primary filter does not catch, then the performance should be as advertised or at least close to that. With this said, I find that these filters work very well but not as excellent as I would appreciate given the cost (They could easliy be about $10 cheaper and I would be much happier). However, I can definitely tell the difference when I am using them in concert with my main shower filter vs. when I am not. In my particular case, the 5 filters generally last ~6 months or close to that (2-3 showers/day of ~10-15 minutes for each shower or so...) when used with my main filter and the performance is very good.Lastly, I have not experienced any sort of problems with the water not hitting the vitamin C or anything else to that effect as some other reviewers have mentioned. The only thing I would suggest in those cases is that either the filter may not be installed correctly (make sure the insert is ALL the way down in the wand) and/or there may be a compatibility issue with the filter and another brand of hand-held shower wand that is not a Sonaki possibly?Bottom line with these inserts is definitely make sure you have a primary NSF filter in your shower to use with them and also purchase a simple testing kit for chlorine/chloramine levels as well. Conduct a before/after test and that way you will definitely know if your current filter system will benefit from a continued investment in these additional filter inserts or no with your particular chlorine/chloramine issues in your area. Basic testing kits are fairly inexpensive and widely available for purchase online, but if you are having trouble locating one--contact NSF directly for suggestions/recommendations. Happy bathing!

Repeat Customer of 4 years
I have been ordering these for the last 4 years and they are an excellent choice for your hair and skin during shower. Chlorine and Chloramine are neither good for your internal system and turns out it's not good for your external system as well. Yes, they are pricey, so are the medical treatments. For my family I choose to invest in preventative measures such as using these shower filters rather than later paying for the treatment of any disease + suffering. It feels good knowing that the fumes in the shower are no longer a hazard to worry about. Customer service team is awesome for this company as well. Highly recommended.

Excellent water filter!
For the price & how long it lasts, you can't go wrong. Easy to replace cartridges & you can just know the vitamin C is doing it's job.
