This first installment was an interest catching read! It’s a fairly quick paced story that keep you wanting to turn the page to find out what happens next! I can’t wait to start the next book!

Great new series!
This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought enjoyed it. Fast moving and interesting. A little confused until I got all the characters straight. Will read the next book.

The Unthinkable Happened
I've now read both Book 1 - "Righteous Gathering" and Book 2 - "Righteous Bloodshed", and am really looking forward to Book 3! Like the author Tim Van Sickel, we also live in the area, so my mind easily followed where the book's action was taking place - and there sure was a lot of action! I've spent a fair amount of time thinking about what to do if we were impacted by an EMP, and the books stories might be predicting our future sooner than we think, and how the characters in the story dealt with the EMP might soon be our story. No matter where you live you'd be impacted. They're both well written, action packed, perfect for Christians and definitely timely. Blessings, Chuck Gough

Not what I hoped
I'm eager for Christian literature and I really enjoy dystopian stories; therefore , I was glad to read this book. While I am a Chritian I'm also a Psychologist and the characters in the story seemed more like caricatures and gross exaggerations of the worst kind. The Christians are quick to judge people who don't look or act like them and this is supported by the storyline about the "meth heads" being evil and planning terror immediately . I know this situation would create the need to be wary, but it seems naive and childish at times. It grates on my sense of Christian love. There are moments that capture the heart of what I hope Christians would be in an apocalypse, buy in a lot of places it is just off. There is a warning about prayer and profanity at the beginning , but no warning about the implications of rape and abuse within , which can be triggering for people. Also, this book is very pro gun violence almost glorifying in weapons and that may turn some people off as well. I'm not sure if I'll keep reading it.

The lights are out. Law and order are blind and in the dark.
An EMP attack has taken down the power grid and fried the electronics in modern appliances. No communication. No cars or trucks that rely on electronics to operate. Soon no food or goods in stores. The prepared and the lucky may be able to get a generator running. . . until the fuel runs out. Some ham radios that survived the EMP in a Faraday cage are getting the word out that nukes hit New York and Washington D.C. High altitude nukes generated the EMP that blacked out most of North America. But our retaliation reduced the rest of the world to the same condition. If you're waiting for help, you're going to wait a long time. You best look to yourself and your family. And never underestimate the depravity of mankind.Well written, from a point of view I haven't seen in this literary genre, but I found the Christian beliefs and morals a refreshing change from the norm. In my neck of the woods, life revolves around God, guns and family. My soul belongs to God, my heart belongs to my family, but my ass belongs on the firing line, defending my family and my beliefs.I'm putting Righteous Survival EMP Saga on my 'to be read real soon' list!

You will love this book!!!
A very uplifting book. No, not the violent drug consuming gangs, but how men and women come together to help one another. Instead of everyone going their separate ways and say “me and mine,” it emphasizes the value of community. Yes The main character is especially prepared for EMP and he uses Godly wisdom in how he does help others. He however is very prepared. He puts God first, then family and then others. He realizes he can’t take care of anybody else if he has not taken care of his own. So “No” he doesn’t give everything away and then starve himself out. That would be foolish. The Lord says be ‘wise as a serpent and as innocent as doves.’ The story show you how to be wise with helpful hints and suggestions on how to prepare for an EMP happening or other apocalyptic event. I think this book could give you a different vantage points of how good people can stand against the bad if prepared and working together. Also how quick evil men will take advantage of good people if they are not prepared to defend their self.

A Christian perspective on survival
The author tries to portray a Christian prepper during an emp situation. This is not easy because he wants to help those he can but realizes his family must be taken care of also. I think he does a pretty good job. He is not afraid to deal with lawless gangs in the only way you can. He is carful about who to and how much help he gives. He relies on Gods guidence on these matters.
