Amazon Basics Tilting Low Profile TV Wall Mount for 12 to 39" TVs and Flat Panels up to 40 Lbs, Black

Okay so this review isn't going to be super in depth. It's mainly to help people understand why they should get it and a little bit of instruction. I bought it mainly because, at the time, it was cheaper than every other one and it's design appealed to me. And everything was as advertised! Installation was easy (disclaimer--I like to build things). The instructions are easier to understand than other instructions I've read (though I still found myself re-reading the same instructions a couple of times to make sure). If you have never installed one of these before, the fear of your nice TV dropping will be there unfortunately. But, if you do the part where the anchor is installed correctly, IT WILL WORK. I stress that to give others confidence. That said...did I poke more holes than I needed to? Yes. Did I keep on checking to see if the TV moved a little after a day, week, and month and a few months had passed? Yes. In short, I really think this type of TV mount, needs to be used more often--mine is a 55 inch and I know that most people get this size when they get a big TV. The other stud-based anchoring types are the ones I see everyone use and it's a much harder install if you don't have a stud finder. If you've got drywall and you're afraid of the studs not being at the proper place to center your TV, buy this. Tools needed: Flat/Phillips Screwdrivers Level (The ruler with the bubble in the middle) Stud finder (you can also knock on the wall--go to Youtube to learn) A cheap drill Pencil for markings. Time needed: 20-45 minutes. Things to note: Sometimes your drywall won't be completely flat. This may affect the wall mount being able to "lay flat" on the wall. Don't worry, the wall mount will still work even if it's not flush against the wall. Just make sure you install everything according to the instructions. It's been a year and my 55 inch tv has not moved an inch!

This should have been an easy install but it didn't become easy until I threw away the instructions and used my own good common sense. I installed this on a small narrow plaster wall that had no studs and here are a few of my notes: The instructions- if that is what you can call them- are only going to confuse you horribly. I used to write technical manuals that included schematics by mechanical engineers and all I could think is that if our universities are graduating engineers that produce this level of instruction, we are all in serious trouble. With the TV turned over on it's front, I placed the bar over the screw holes on the back of the TV and attached it with the included ( tiny) screws and washers that are really too small in diameter until you push the bar all the way to the top of the hole. Be sure to do that otherwise the TV will fall off the bar. The screw heads and washers should have been larger in diameter. If you have screws with larger heads and larger washers, I would recommend using them. I then oriented the wall fixture to the back of the tv and connected it to the bar to determine how far into the groove the bar would go and yes, it fits all the way down into the groove. So, I measured the distance from the bottom of the groove ( on the bar attached to the TV) to the top of the tv which was 7.5 inches. I then got my T-square and was able to draw a straight horizontal line across the wall that was 7.5" below the light wall fixture switch on that wall. I needed the top of the TV to be at the same level as the bottom of the light switch. The wall fixture does have a bubble level on it but the fixture is very heavy and not totally flush with the wall, so it tends to constantly slip. It's best to draw a pencil line on the wall and stay oriented to that line. I then placed the wall fixture on the wall with the bottom of the fixture on the line I drew on the wall. While holding it steady with my left hand, I placed two of the included nails into the nail holes near or at the middle of the fixture and began hammering them in. You MUST have a strong hand to hold the fixture extremely still because otherwise, the fixture will move down as you hammer ( the nails are at an angle) I then hammered in the rest of the nails except for two which I hammered straight into the wall using the holes below the top holes. One thing I noticed is that the wall fixture was slightly bowed and wouldn't lie flush to the wall so a couple of my nails were a bit loose but I'm not worried about that. That's all I did. I didn't add a screw but maybe I might have to later on as the house vibrates and such. No biggie- at least the heavy monster is already in place. I then added two of the bumper/spacers to the back of the TV in the two screws below the bar mount. It turned out that I needed to add a little more height to the spacer in order to straighten/remove a slight lean to the TV and so I just took two of the black rubber gasket things and pushed them into the bumpers and voila...perfect fit. I am very satisfied with my installation and confident that it will hold given how many nails are holding it up. In summary, I ONLY used the included nails and the bumper wall spacers and that's it. The rest of the hardware is stored in a plastic bag for future use if I need them.

Fantastic mount! I didn't expect this to work as well as it does. Truth be told, it couldn't be much better. Now, I wasn't sure from the product description, but you do need to install it using the two half-inch toggle bolts. The bolts it came with are very long; I had to file them down with a Dremel to get them to fit in the wall. The nails up top provide some added support and help secure it close to the wall, but the stability is due in large part to those toggle bolts. I wouldn't trust this mount without those, so I don't recommend it if you have qualms about drilling out a half-inch hole in the wall. It also has options for mounting into concrete; just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. It even comes with a half-inch drill bit that you can turn by hand if you are doing a drywall mount. We mounted the TV directly into drywall with no studs (the studs we have are metal and oddly located, so we could not use them). I mounted a 55-inch Samsung 4K LED TV (2016 model), and it sits as close to flush against the wall as possible. This mount made our small living room look more open, since the TV could sit directly on the wall rather than sticking out a few inches. It looks great and holds great. I was nervous at first (since this was the first time I had mounted a TV in my house, and I'd heard horror stories), but I've learned to trust that it's not going to fail. We're about eight months in, and it holds great. One thing that I will also note is that because of how close the TV sits to the wall with this mount, it's pretty difficult if not impossible to access the rear of the TV while it is mounted. If you need to insert/remove a cable or access any controls on the back, I would recommend carefully removing it from the mount first, otherwise you will risk dropping the TV. Also keep in mind there is no way to adjust angles with this type of mount. You just attach the mount to the wall, the bracket to the TV, and then carefully set the TV on the mount. The cord in the middle hangs free and allows you to pull down a metal lever that extends the width of the mount and secures the bracket in the mount. Again, just follow instructions and you're fine.

The mount itself is very good quality. I did have two install problems that caused me quite a bit of delay in completing the job: 1.) The kit comes with two snap toggles to use when mounting in drywall(no stud install). One of the snap toggles broke (inside the wall) when I attempted to screw the mounting plate to the wall. I called Amazon, and they offered to send me an entire new TV mount, but all I needed was more snap toggles. I found a Lowes where I could buy just two snap toggles whereas several Home Depot and other Lowes only sold snap toggles in larger sets (I only needed one and I did not want to buy 6). After reading up on snap toggles, it sounds like the snap toggle breaking during the install is not unusual (also, sounds like this happened to another reviewer, too). However, if it does not break, it seems that many people swear by snap toggle bolts (based on research skimming the internet). This is not really a fault of the Amazon product itself. And if you are mounting to a stud, it will NOT be a problem. If mounting to drywall, be prepared for the possibility of having to buy some extra snap toggles. 2.) The kit comes with lots of different mounting hardware (for various different TV types and scenarios). However, I purchased a older model year 32" Samsung from Best Buy (to get decent sound as newer Samsungs have tinny sound), and the supplied bolts used to mount the bracket TV did not work (a little too short). I was forced to search for a Lowes that had M8-1.25x40 Pan Phillips machine bolts(again, the bolts supplied with kit where a bit too short), and that did the trick. To find these metric bolts, I search several Home Depot and other hardware stores, but I only found them at Lowes. And so these two major delays, I finally founded the TV. And I am happy with the quality of the mount itself. I would buy it again.

Updated 2/2/18 - since getting the first one we purchased another similar style but different maker. found out it was not so similar in regards to quality or construction details that matter. fyi that was for a smaller 42" hdtv. all said we ended up ordering another of these to replace that other one. all things considered this amazon basic's model is the one we would recommend 'all day long.' Used for 65" 4k led samsung. To start unlike many do it yourself kits here all the parts are clearly labeled! The materials are good quality. The design is nice and simple but not perfect. Even with varied bolt sizes still had to raid the shed for a couple spare parts. The lower bolts correct diameter but too long. The upper bolts again correct diameter but these too short. Mounting is best with two people but that said I was able to get mine up alone. I do not suggest anyone do this unless you've no alternative. Absolutely measure, use the level and triple check before putting the tv up. Also make sure all cables are connected before too. Better to have extra HDMI cables in place even if not needed now. Imagine having to remove everything, taking down, connecting and then getting it back up again. I made that error and it was awful. Totally my fault. Do have cables connected to ALL HDMI outs all outs audio etc even if some aren't yet going to anything, yet. Once the back plate is up and tv plate on you just need lift the tv up high enough so when you lower it the back easily grabs/catches the rim and is firmly in place. All said I am confident that this mount will stand up over time. They went the extra mile with plenty of mounting hardware. The 65" tv this is being used for is not going anywhere. Lastly though you might not feel the need to read the instructions DO. God forbid you think you've got it right but don't? Better safe than sorry. Excellent value!

So let me start by saying I am not using this in the generally intended way. That said, the mounts are solid and easy to hang. We actually got a 43" TV and use it almost entirely on our covered deck. When we're not actually watching it on the deck it hangs in our kitchen, just inside the door to the deck. We actually bought 2 of these mounts with 1 base on the kitchen wall and 1 base on the 2x6 cross that bolts to the deck railing. Installation was a breeze on both. The elongated holes on the "wall" mounts make it easy to get at least 2 screws solidly into the studs. At least for our 43" LED that is all that's needed to fully secure the mount for this TV. The incorporated bubble level is useless, definitely use your own. It was far enough off that even eyeballing the mount based on the level it was obvious it was off. So using your own level, setup is a breeze and moving the TV between the mounts is a piece of cake as the "hanging" part is super easy. The only issue is the pull chain on the wall mount part to lock the TV into place. It doesn't work very well, sticking more often than not. If my TV wasn't moving often this would be fine to get it to lock into place once and if it sticks a little getting it loose it wouldn't be a big deal. However, when the TV is in the kitchen there is concern for someone standing up from a chair and bumping it loose, so being able to easily lock it down and then unlock it again would be really helpful. In the end, for what it's designed for, and for the price, you can't beat this mount.

Over all, this product is very good. Only a few minor things, most of which I didn’t have to deal with, but definitely worth knowing and considering. From the reviews, I read that depending on what your hole patterns are on your TV, you may have to slide the entire mount to the left or right on your TV to accommodate that, and because of that, you should start there before you mount the back plate on your wall after in case it will not be centered on your TV. Luckily, I did not run into that issue with my TV. Also, I read in many reviews that the built-in level was not exactly on, so I didn’t even try to use it at all. I have a magnetic level I just attached right to the bottom and I didn’t even pay attention the the built-in level, so unfortunately I can’t say whether or not it was accurate or not. Pros: The quality of the construction and materials of this TV mount are great. It seems like it will hold up very well. Cons: The instructions can be a little difficult to follow. I’m fairly handy and for the most part, I can typically assemble and figure things out without needing to follow the instructions, but I’m not afraid to pick them up anytime I’m not 100% sure of what I’m doing. I decided to do that right from the start with this because of the reviews and I’m glad I did. Although the instructions were a bit difficult at times, they were helpful, I just had to go over them a few time while looking at the TV mount and all the parts to figure out what it was telling me. Over all though, the instructions were helpful in the end.

Design & Build quality are excellent. Supplied screws and nuts and other tools are nice. The installation instructions booklet contains detailed explanation. They are giving so much importance just for a tiny wall mount. Amazing Amazonbasics.

Fue relativamente fácil de instalar. Me tomó media hora el taladrar los agujeros, acomodar los brazos para que se adaptara a la tele que tenemos. Usamos una tele de 32" muy ligera que nos regalaron con una compra en un comercio y queríamos montarla en la pared del patio. El soporte es de muy buen material y mucho más pesado de lo que imaginaba, pero significa que es de buena calidad de metal. Incluye todo lo que necesitas (excepto por taladro y broca obviamente, y un desarmador) Instrucciones decentes. El perfil es muy bajo, ideal si quieres dejar una tele fija. Pueden inclinarse un poco para abajo. Revisa que puedas accesar los puertos de la tele de lado o abajo por qué no se separa mucho de la pared para poner cables grandes. Por el precio vale mucho la pena.

Usato per appendere una ti led 24 pollici in cucina, se utilizzato è montato usando i giusti criteri risulta solido, facile da montare e di buona qualità. Attenzione al vostro cavo tv è quello dì alimentazione, ho dovuto sostituire cavo antenna e cavo di alimentazione con modelli piatti con angolo a 90 gradi, altrimenti toccano contro il muro, visto che il supporto è molto aderente alla parete.

I was very dubious initially. My TV weighs 76 lbs and I had serious doubts as to whether this could hold it. It has now been on the wall for 3 weeks and so far everything is 100% secure. It is compact, easy to install and is virtually invisible behind the TV. I wanted the TV to be as flat as possible with a minor tilt and this fit the bill perfectly. I need another one for a second TV and intend to re-order it. Aside from everything else the price was right. I looked in retail stores prior to ordering this and could have purchased a new TV for the same price!
