Sir Sean Connery - The Definitive Biography: 1930

Body Builder To Movie Icon
This is a decent overview of Sean Connery's life and career it covers everything in which he appeared in equal measure so early films like Darby O' Gill And The Little People through the Bond years to later films such as The Untouchables and The Rock. But that is the problem with the book it doesn't take the time to examine his great films although it spends a lot of time on Bond it doesn't give any detail as to why he gradually became disenchanted with the role also during the sixties he made Marnie with Alfred Hitchcock and The Hill for Sydney Lumet I wanted to know more about these films and there making also I would have liked more on films such as The Man Who Would Be King and Rising Sun films that had an interesting development instead you get 2 or 3 pages then it is on to the next film.So what I feel about this book is that as a general look at Connery's life it is good and readable, but also I think there is a better book to be written that will give more time to his notable films and perhaps less on forgettable films like Meteor or The Man With The Deadly Lens. So if you just want the basics then this is the place to start but I think there is a better book to be written on a man who is perhaps Britain's greatest movie actor and his films.

Brilliant book
What a hardworking man Sean or should I say Tommy was, he cared about his family and from the age of 9helped to bring money into the home, he had a hard upbringing which appears to have formed his hard working character, lovely man/

Great service, arrived swiftly, a bit storage soiled but otherwise in great condition and promise to be a great read for the intended reader. Some photos of personal and intimate off screen moments in the life of the best Bond ever!
