Soul Eater: Monstrous, Book 1

I have so been missing out on monster romance!
1st person/single povSpice: 4/5I finally took the plunge into monster romance and there will be no looking back from this point forward. I adored this book! The whole concept of monsters rising up and the world going into this post-apocalyptic state gives the perfect setting for a book like this. Wyn's character is so sarcastic and snarky that it makes his interactions with the kind and laid-back Danny so funny to read. He understands a lot about humans but at the same time, he still doesn't understand humans so it was quite entertaining as they navigated around some of that. Plus, Wyn has that overprotective nature I love to see in at least one of the MMCs because I'm a total sucker for a guy who is not afraid to get his hands dirty to keep his person safe. So try and come between Wyn and his human... hah! You'd be better off doing a swan dive into the Grand Canyon and hoping you live to see tomorrow. Oh and Michael Lesley - sir - that voice for Wyn?! *faints* I could not deal with the shivers that voice sent down my spine half the time lol! Like whoa... well done sir well done.Danny is just the sweetest thing. At one point he is referred to as precious and I couldn't agree more. He has such a kind and gentle nature about him that will have you instantly wanting to protect him at all costs. It hurts my heart when he is so hard on himself. This poor guy is so alone in the world and constantly doubts himself but somehow he still seems to keep this sort of upbeat and hopeful attitude through the majority of the book. It totally fits with the way Michael narrates his character. With that unrushed southern drawl and his accent straight from the bayous of southern Louisianna he just goes with the flow only wanting the simplest of things from life. To be cared for and care for someone in return. To not be alone anymore. Gah, I'm getting choked up just thinking about all those moments I could have just reached in and given him a big hug. Also, inebriated Danny is hilarious!! Michael nailed that whole scene and I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard!If you can't imagine how off-the-charts the spice is, do yourself a favor and read and/or listen to it. (I highly recommend listening to it though - Wyn's growls and Danny's yelling during "seggsy" time make it so worth it lol!) Being new to monster romance I was prepared for things to be a tad... different... anatomy-wise. It was don't get me wrong but surprisingly it didn't take away from any of the spicy stuff. If anything it made it even hotter haha. It certainly offered up some very interesting visuals in the imagination while listening. So double-check any content warnings and go start this series like NOW. I've already got book two downloaded and waiting because I need more asap!

Officially hooked
I had no idea who Lily Mayne was until I came across a recommendation and I immediately purchased this based off the blurb. That was 2 weeks ago and I have been on a binge since. My mind is completely blown away with the visuals and how detailed this book is written. When the characters started revealing themselves, it was over for me and I could not stop.Immediately I became invested in Danny's survival as he is the sweetest soul and he should be protected at all times. I'll admit I was worried when Wyn make his memorable entrance but he is the best for and with Danny. I felt all the feels with this story but it was worth it. Eight hours later and a dead Kindle is nothing compared to this story. I felt like I was right there experiencing their trails and fights and love. After a quick nap and a battery charge, I'll be ready for book 2.

MM monster romance
ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘: 𝟛.𝟝 '𝕤𝕊𝕡𝕚𝕔𝕖: 🌶️🌶️🌶️𝕄𝕄, 𝕄𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣 ℝ𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕖“You were the first human to treat me with something other than contempt or disgust.I decided to give you a chance at survival. If I’d known you were this annoying and talkative, I may have decided differently.”This was my first MM romance, huge thank you to Also know as . There’s honestly something about MM romances that just hits different…I’m all for it. Danny is a solider, shy and alone fighting a war against the monsters whom have been on earth. Wyn is a monster whom honestly is misunderstood because let’s face it humans always think the worst, fight first ask later, and weaponizes whatever they can. When Danny is thrown basically into a suicide mission WYN spares him and kills everyone else which starts the connection of the two. Wyn gets captured but let’s face it he let it happen it wa part of his plan, and when plan to release all the monsters from the military camp he takes Danny with him. Danny has is left with either walking the cities alone, military killing him, or stay with WYN. Why was everything other than what the military portraited him to be his killings were of those who was infected he was basically helping the humans and the bong that formed with Danny and wyn was the best. The attraction the obsession between them was the best parts of the book.

🔥🔥
Danny lives in The Wastes, that had been abandoned by humankind once the New Age began. When the monsters rose, and the wars started. He joined the military after the death of his mother and is on a suicide mission to capture Wyn, The Soul Eater. When Wyn is captured and he only wants to talk with Danny. After some time, they escape and flee the military, and that is when Danny learns of Wyn’s true mission. Throughout the book layers are unravel and you learn more about Wyn . I love how Danny and Wyn are so perfect for each other.

Ultra romantic.. love It!
The male protagonists are so cute together. The plot is awesome. Just I think it's lacking some explanations that, hopefully, Will be addressed in following books. Like (spoiler warning) why does wyn and his "race" do what they do? How did the Danny loose conciousness? Why was wyn moody somedays in the early stages of meeting each other? (Was It something the military did?) How did wyn know danny's name without him telling him so? And so on! I'm curious XD

Achingly beautiful
Wyn and Danny's story was so heartbreakingly beautiful. I adored both of them, and loved watching them grow. I loved the sweet moments, and the steamy ones, and I can't wait to read Edin.

Just a note: this book grows on you. The series gets better and better and even if you are not sure how much you liked Danny and Wyn when finishing, believe me: you loved them!!After reading this I'm not surprised by the hype, I totally understand why so many people adored this book. I was so invested from beginning to end and I can't wait to discover more about these monsters. The beginning is superb, I loved the post apocalyptic world we discover here, and how everything is explained while other things happen. There's not time to get bored since the starting point is Danny and his military mates going after Wyn... as nothing more than cannon fodder. Danny doesn't like violence, he doesn't like his bosses and also dislikes having monsters captive. But he doesn't want to die and to some point military seemed his only option. Then Wyn enters the picture, the Soul Eater, the worst of all demons... And Danny's life changes 180.This is not your usual relationship, Wyn being a deadly monster and Danny a militar protecting humans from monsters. I don't what to reveal too much so that those who haven't read the book yet can discover it how I did, I will just say every phase of their relationship is amazing and leaves you wanting more.I specially liked their romance not being too fast paced. They need time to accept everything that's happening and to try and understand each other's, their differences and why they do what they do.And let's not talk about their physical different. OMG the smexy scenes where hot!Who doesn't like being surprised while reading a book? Wyn's perspective of what's happening in the world did surprise me because it completely change the course the story takes. And how amazing is that?I found the monsters in this book fascinating even though we don't meet there many first hand. But what we see is that there are many types and kinds of them and I can't wait to discover more.I'm not sure if I'm going to read the next book right now, but if not I won't take much time. I want more of Edin, Wyn's lavander colored big monster, who briefly appears here.

This is the best book in existence!
This book is godsend! I can’t even begin to describe how much I enjoyed reading this book. It’s something I didn’t knew I needed in my life but clearly did! Like words can’t describe how I feel after reading this! The most disappointed part of this book was how their relationship started like it was not at all how I imagined. But the rest of the book is to good to care much about that! I live for the relationship Danny and Wyn have!So with that being said, I really enjoyed reading this but this book is not for anyone since it contains (as the book warns about) alien sex, blood, torture and death.
