Sturdiest Ironing Board I've Ever Seen!
This is the sturdiest ironing board I've ever had. (My husband weighed it as per an Amazon customer's request, and it is 10.2 lbs.). I bought this one made with a steal frame/legs to replace my standard aluminum frame board which I bent by attempting to do a small fabric cutting project on it. Disaster. This board is made to perfection so it doesn't wobble in any way. In addition, it's covered with some sort of thick pad beneath the cotton cover so that the project you're ironing on doesn't pick up the pattern of the metal beneath it (a first for me with ironing boards). I couldn't be more pleased. I doubt I'll ever have to buy another ironing board for the rest of my life; this one is so well made. In addition, although this board is a tiny bit wider than my last board (which I love), I will still be able to easily find a cover replacement when this one eventually wears out. Note: Instead of getting a board with a special spot to place your iron, I purchased a silicon iron rest-which I feel works better anyway.

Great ironing board which is much
Great ironing board which is much, much, much sturdier than the last one I purchased in a hardware store. Make sure you check the length/height before purchase. I didn't, and ultimately had to find a different place in which to store it upright it than the place in which I had originally intended to store it. I liked it so much that I wasn't about to return it and instead found a place in a clothes closet in which to place it. I've rated it 4 Stars only because although it's fairly easy-opening, one's body has to "go-with-a-downward-push-flow-motion" in order to close it. Regardless, I'm quite satisfied with the product.

which opened nice and smooth but the feet were uneven
Finally, an ironing board that doesn't wobble, or screech when opening! My old one screeched, metal on metal, when extending the legs. I bought a new one from Walmart, it screeched too. Then I bought a "Mabel Home T-leg" ironing board from Amazon, which opened nice and smooth but the feet were uneven, hence wobbling. This one is super quiet and easy to open, locks when in the closed position, and is super stable. I even like the neutral, modern grey pattern of the cover. My only complaint is the "nose" end is a bit wider than my original board (though narrower than the Mable). I prefer a narrow nose for ironing the yoke of dress shirts. But I can live with this one. Plastic Ironing Board
I needed a new ironing board because the steel ironing board that I have used for 25+ years finally succumbed to the repeated high-heat ironing of linen fabrics, and the ironing surface had warped and no longer made adequate contact with the flat surface of the iron. I ordered this board specifically because it indicated that it was made of "sturdy steel". After waiting two weeks for my purchase to arrive, I opened the box and could immediately see that the entire ironing surface under the fabric cover was perforated plastic, not the steel that the product description had led me to believe it would be. While it is true that the legs are sturdy steel, I do not iron on the legs. Merely pressing my hand down on the ironing surface caused the plastic to warp, and since a warped ironing surface was my reason for purchasing a new board in the first place, this is going back.

Doesn't hold closed
It works fine and is sturdy. However, the clip that keeps the board folded on mine isn't aligned properly and doesn't actually hold the board closed.

Great board, but it rocked
Completely unstable, a good 1.5" difference from the floor so only 3 of the feet could be on the floor at any one time. The seller gave me an immediate refund, no questions asked and I have to say, if it wasn't for this defect, this is a good, solid board, not the lightweight boards you find everywhere. It's a Bed, Bath and Beyond product so I'm looking for one I can open and test there.

Sturdy and solid board, right value for the price
This is a terrific standard sized ironing board. I find it to be very solid and sturdy compared to most ironing boards I have used. Not sure about all the complaints that it's not sturdy- perhaps they are looking for an unrealistic level for a portable board ? The cover it comes with is pretty flimsy and would wear out quickly, so I put a padded silicone cover on it that I really like (also bought on amazon: Epica Silicone Coated Ironing Board Cover Resists Scorching and Staining - 15"x54" ). I am so ready for ironing action - killin it !

Lightweight, stable, quiet
I finally decided I needed a new ironing board and tried out a fancy extra wide board with an ironing rest built in. It was so heavy I could barely manage it and sent it right back. I finally settled on this simple, VERY lightweight board and am so happy with my decision. No fancy gadgets but just a stable, easy to manage board that does seem to have a little wider surface which is great.
