Great book, great series
I love these books!Somehow, my 2 year old takes the lessons less personally when we read about it in the books. We have the sharing, calm down time, hands are not for hitting and now this book in the series. The books are simply stated so that a 2 year old can understand. They are vague enough that they apply to most children and situations. A bonus, the colors and patterns are vintage/nostalgic and fun to look at.When I tell him it's nap time, he gets very defensive and argumentative. So, my strategy has changed. Now, we sit down to read this book. The mommy in the book tells the boy it's nap time. My son can see how the little boy in the book responds and naps nicely. I can then lay him down and tell him to nap nicely like the boy in the book. We've taken a cue from the books and differentiated nap time, bed time, and "calm down time". My son still naps in the morning, but has given up his afternoon sleep. However, he still gets tired and needs to rest in the afternoons. The "calm down time" book has helped demonstrate what it means, to have alone time and rest (without having it be punishment or "time out". I highly recommend that book, too.

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT BOOK FOR CREATING A "HAPPY NAPPER"!!
I ordered this book for our two year old granddaughter who had suddenly began protesting taking a nap, even though it's quite evident that she's very tired in the middle of the day and really needs a nap. I searched EVERYWHERE for a book that specifically addresses naps, and not going to bed at night, and this is the only one I found! Even so--this is the ABSOLUTE PERFECT book for our purpose!! It talks about how the little boy in the book still wants it to be play time when his Mommy tells him it's nap time. Then the mommy talks to the little boy about why taking a nap is a good thing, saying cute little phrases like, "I take a little rest, so I can feel my best!" The little boy ends up deciding he can be (and wants to be) A Happy Napper! The book is the perfect length for a 2 - 4 year old, and uses language that they love and say along with you after they've heard the book a time or two. Our little Sam likes us to read it a couple of times just before her nap, and then she "reads" the book to her animals after we leave the room. As we go out the door and turn out the light, we say, "Night Night Happy Napper"! And she says it right back to us. This book has made a world of difference in helping Sam to understand why she takes a nap, and to be happy to do it on most days. It's simply irreplaceable, and PERFECT for creating your own Happy Napper!!

good message and illustrations
We got this book about a month ago to read at naptimes, and it is already one of my 11 month old's favorite books. She is too young to understand what it says, but she loves the illustrations and reaches for the book every time she sees it sitting on the dresser. She likes to "kiss" the child's face on the pages where his face is most of the page, and likes to try to turn the pages back to re-read it. That being said, the book is not particularly relaxing to her now because she is so interested in it, but I think as soon as she can understand it, it will help her frame naps in a positive way: "I take a break from play to have a better day" and "Naps are just a little break, see you when you wake." We always read Sandra Boynton's The Going to Bed Book at bedtime, and now it's a sleep cue for her (she always rubs her eyes at the end), so I'm hoping that Naptime will become the same for her at naps.Parent enjoyment is also important (since we're the ones reading over and over!), and this ranks highly for me. I love how the text is soothing, uses sleepy sounds ("sigh," "yawn," "mmm") - I always yawn after I read "yawn" - but is also a fun read with good rhyming.

BEST. BOOK. EVER.
Can’t wait to purchase all the other books! I read it to my girls, now I need “bedtime” because even my big girl wants to read it during bedtime 😂

Really helps with naptime issues
I bought this book based on the previous good reviews and I have not been disappointed. Naptime has been a real issue in our house for the past couple of months. We were resorting to driving our 2.5 year old in the car EVERY DAY to get him to take a nap. I have been incorporating Pantley's no cry techniques and this book has been a real complement to our naptime routine. We read this book whenever he wants to, but particularly before naptime. My son likes to copy the actions in the book, like giving a hug and a kiss when the boy in the book gets one. It's actually now easier to put my son down for a nap than for bed!I really like how the book is simple for a little one to understand and has a really gentle tone. The illustrations are really great as well.

Does the job
There are two lovely poems (both on the same page, weirdly enough) that are so good that they have become a part of how our family talks about naps. The rest of the book is just okay, but it gets the job done.“We take a break from play to have a better day.” And also “I need a little rest so I can feel my best.”Good purchase. We read it almost daily, or just recite it since my baby has it memorized.

Awesome book for toddlers!
I LOVE this book! It literally saved us when our toddler started having difficulty taking naps. He got to the stage where napping was a bad thing in his eyes because it took him away from all the fun! I searched for nap time story books for toddlers and was surprised to not find many. However, this book looked good so I ordered it. It is PERFECT! It explains (in easy to understand toddler language) why they need naps, that it's only a short break from play, etc. My son loves this book and the pictures. We started using it at around 22 months and still read it every day for nap time! The other books in this serious are wonderful as well - we bought them all!

Explains naps so well
So beautifully and peacefully explains why we need rest at naptime. My 8 month old actually sits still for this book. Originally checked this book out at the library and ordered it on amazon 10 min later. Loved it so much!

Super cute nap time book
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for book’s specifically about napping for my son and everything online gave night time books. I stumbled upon this book and it is so cute! The pictures are nice and it is very colourful. The story is also cute and teaches kids why it is important to rest. This will be in our regular nap time routines. Would recommend.

Our son loves it
Our son loves this book and consistently chooses it for his pre-nap story. Not sure if it's really helped with naptime, but he loves the interactive parts, the rhyming text and the illustrations.

Obsoleto y feo
El texto es obsoleto, las ilustraciones son muy feas y poco claras. En resumen un libro feo, anticuado y con una “historia” con muy poca imaginación ...
