The bat guano is treated to a heating and drying process to remove moisture and eliminate pathogens. It meets the official USDA definition of a processed manure and can be applied without harvest or interval restrictions.

Down To Earth Bat Guano 9-3-1 can certainly be applied directly to the soil at the rate noted on the package (1-2 lbs/ 100 square feet). We recommend mixing the fertilizer lightly into the soil and watering afterwards. For best results, apply a fine layer of compost over the top of the fertilizer to assist in nutrient uptake. Bat Guano is one of the quicker natural fertilizers, and its breakdown will be affected by multiple factors: soil temperature, soil biology level, soil moisture.
