BIC Lot of 5 Mini Multi-Colour Lighter Lot

These are the real deal. I don't smoke, but I figure every homo sapiens needs to have the ability to make fire. I wanted a small and lightweight lighter that I can carry in my pants pocket, and this seems ideal. The full size lighters probably last twice as long for those with a constant need to ignite something, but I'll probably lose this lighter before it runs out of butane. The butane doesn't leak, even with a lot of other stuff banging around in my tactical pants pocket, and the mechanism seems reliable and extremely well made for a very cost reduced high volume product. Sure, there are less expensive versions of these already very inexpensive lighters, but I figure Bic has forgotten a lot more about making butane lighters than the low cost imported lighter manufacturers will ever know.I've also used one of these Bic mini-lighters for ultralight camping, and it was awesome for that. I used a mini version of a pop can stove (do an online search) that I made that weighs 0.3 ounces! The mini Bic lighter was a great companion, and I could spark it to light the alcohol stove without using any of the butane in the lighter.I do wish I could pick a color rather than getting the assorted colors, but that's a relatively trivial matter.

Pro or con, I expected a little bit larger lighter. Pro, it fits nicely in a pocket for everyday use. It is great for shrinking plastic tubing, removing threads, starting campfires in a wind-free location. The smaller your hand, the better it fits.

The only thing that upset me about this purchase was that it promised 2-3 days for shipping. It took nearly two weeks to get to me after calling Amazon customer service twice. Even corresponded with seller and was only told that it was on its way. One good factor about this product was the price. Most of these lighters on the common market, sell for about $1.68 each. This package has ten lighters which equal out for a dollar and a few cents.

I bought these because they were cheap, since I only use lighters to light birthday candles at my job. Well mini is correct, these things are SMALL. I wont be surprised if I go through them quickly due to how much smaller they are to regular lighters. But more concerning is that the metal part you have to hold to light anything will get QUITE hot after being lit for just a few seconds. I had to light 3-4 small birthday candles, and I had to switch hands cause one was getting too hot, and then I was worried about putting it back into my cloth apron afterwards. I'll try to use these up, but definitely not cheaping out next time I need a new lighter.
