Q: Will this work on fine hair?

Yes it works really well on all hair types. I bought it for my teen daughter with thick hair but we also use in on my youngest with fine hair. I own a couple Chi straighteners and this one works almost as well as for the price. It's definitely worth it. I hope that helped.

Q: Does this have an automatic cut off?

No, must turn off at switch. I know because I have left it on all day!

Q: Would i be better off buying this? Or a CHI?

I liked the Proliss, but don't know about the CHI so could not comment

Q: Are you able to curl your hair with this one too, as well as straighten? My straightener currently does not heat up enough for me to curl my hair!

I have never tried to curl my hair with it, but just the ends, and it works fine. It does heat up pretty quickly, and very hot. I have it for few months now, and I LOVE IT! Hands down my fav flat iron so far.
