General Tools 840516 Fluted Dowel Pins

I built these doors for my bathroom vanity using dowels for the first time. They enabled me to achieve the look I wanted using the 4" planks I'm using for the moldings as well. Nice snug fit and the price was great!

These are a great bargain, but be aware that they are going to be a very tight fit if you are using them with a milescraft dowel jig (and possibly any other jig or drill, but that's the one I'm using). Using them in 3/4 inch birch plywood, I've had to manually shave down any that were going in the ends because they were splitting the ply. The ends are also quite square on some, so beware of that when determining depth.I'll probably look for a different option when I need this size again if I don't need a variety pack, but I'll still go with this again if it was the only decently priced single-size option.

I figured I was slamming 2 cold ones, WHAT, I said 2 cold ones, WHAT, I said gimme a 6 pack and a set of 1/2 inch dowels and you’ll have a dining table and a tipsy handyman in an hour. WHAT. I said an hour. WHAT. I said 60 Da*% good minutes. And that’s the bottom line, cause Stone Cold ET said so.Buy these, they’re pretty good.

There may be some slight variations on length or width throughout each container but it's nothing major. If you're doing very fine work that requires higher precision then I would recommend measuring the pegs beforehand to make sure they're all uniform in size.
