Interesting how the writers wrote back in their time. They were light years ahead of their time. I can see how their style is imitated in today's literature.

6 OF ONE, HALF DOZEN OF ANOTHER
Half the stories are pretty good, half aren't. I read the library's copy then bought my own. The good stories redeem it.

I have purchased & read other big books like this that Otto Penzler edited & thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Short stories offer an enjoyable quick read plus the satisfaction of a solved mystery. I am a fan of Otto Penzler, the collector & bookstore owner. This book was good & I can recommend it to mystery fans. However, the erotic, profane language, while appropriate to the storyline was an unacceptable distraction.

good book quick delivery
Another take on a classic , whatever you may think , the 'black' experience counts an awful damn lot , especially when its put into such prose as this !
