I got this on sale and could not be happier
Well, the sales price was so great that I leapt on it. Sometimes, when that happens, I regret the purchase. Not this time. I think this set is just gorgeous. One thing I really really like about the set is that the three different containers are interchangeable. Each has a nesting bottom that fits into another one. I would have liked it far less if the bottom container had to stay the bottom container, with a flat bottom that wouldn't nest. This is a BFD, really. When I received these, I immediately oiled them with a little olive oil, and they are beautiful. I plan to use them for two different kinds of salt and Bragg's herbs.

Looks Great and Very Functional!
I shopped a long time to find just the right salt/spice box. I finally chose this one because I liked that the three tiers were separate and not connected. I did not want to pick one that had all 3 boxes connected because I thought it would be cumbersome and I would be more likely to spill the contents. I was also concerned about balance issues - having one box out and the container tipping over. I also found this set to be very appealing to look at - I love the look of the real wood. Once I had this home I was very pleased with both the functionality and the appearance - it looks great sitting on my counter! My dad is the best cook in our family and as soon as he saw it he fell in love with it too! I surprised him and bought him one for his anniversary - he called right away to tell me how much he loved it and that he already filled it up with his favorite salts. I personally use mine most for a 50/50 salt and pepper mixture that I use on just about everything!

Simply beautiful!
I’m not quite sure why so many people were unhappy with this product. Yes I could see from the photographs that there were significant differences in color, however natural wood does have its variations. In my case my three look beautiful and quite similar to the photograph on the box as you can see from the photos. The wood is dry, however there are no cracks that I can see. I know from experience that natural wood products must be cared for, particularly they should be moisturized with a vegetable oil. As far as the depths of each piece I have no problem with it at all I think it’s perfect.

Nice Salt Cellar
We like to use different types of salt so the 3 stack set seemed perfect for our needs. My only complaints are 1) wish it had little scooping spoons for each compartment or one on top but that's not a big issue, finger grinding works too and I have little plastic scoops that fit... 2) the wood is an odd mix of dark and light colors, kind of a patchwork effect... I'd expected more of a 1 piece so it matched up better, and the lid is very light with the bins dark... 3) it does NOT slide easily across the counter! Found that out the hard way when the whole thing tumped over and salt went everywhere... 4) I wish the lids had rubber gaskets to seal the contents. One of our very special most favorite salts is slightly moist which is fantastic, but it dries out quickly in this. Disappointing, I may have to move that salt to different storage container.

Easy access and extremely useful for multi-salt users
I have 3 different kinds of salt that that I like to use for different purposes-- pink Himalayan, coarse sea salt, and table salt. I know, it's a bit excessive, but expensive salt is not to be used to salt the pasta water! This was a great solution to keeping all 3 kinds within reach, and it looks beautiful sitting on the counter. Highly recommend!

Too much color variation
Really like have salt, butcher grind pepper and fine pepper at my finger tips. The color of the boxes are so different! Part very light, part very dark and the lid is almost raw wood, not sure it was stained at all.The first we gave as a gift was very consistent and beautiful.

Beautiful, but wood split slightly on one compartment during initial hand washing.
This arrived undamaged and is truly a beautiful set, but one of the salt bowl compartments had part of the wood rim split (looks like it separated at a spot where it had been two joined pieces) as soon as I gently hand washed the compartment in warm water and dish soap. The lid and other two bowl compartments were fine. The split bowl was not submerged and I only planned to wash and wood oil the whole set one time before using it, so this was disappointing. I kept the set, as I was gluing labels to the canisters anyways for different salt types and the split was high enough to still hold a lot of salt on the bowl, so I just covered the gap of the wood with the label and it seems to be fine. Just a word of caution though...

Perfect!
Three tiers is what I needed, as well as the compartments unconnected from each other. I have not found that they 'tip over' at all. Whoever is complaining about that must be a very clumsy cook. They hold an ample amount of product, and you can easily get a Tablespoon measuring device in them. Mine are filled with Kosher Salt, Cracked Black Pepper, and finely-ground White Pepper. I'm only sorry it took me so long to shell-out the money for it. But, boy-oh-boy, it's soooo worth it's weight in gold. Makes cooking so much easier than using a salt shaker, (even the battery-run ones), or pouring product into the palm of your hand and measuring that way. I wish I hadn't been so 'cheap' in my thinking and bought this thing ten-years ago! *lol*
