Gets the job done, but it's definitely laggy when it comes to communication though the camera.

I'm lucky because I own 2 other brands of surveillance cameras which gave me something to compare this "smoke detector camera" to. First, the audio coming from the camera for set-up is incredibly screechy and difficult to understand. Downloading the ICSee app was simple, although I wasn't comfortable with all the permissions it requires. The notifications are terrible - it's almost a full screen of verbiage, really unnecessary. Every few notifications it will tell me that the notifications aren't set up correctly, even though they are. Every time I open the app to view the camera live, a pop-up comes up asking me to subscribe to the cloud. THAT is really annoying, too. The very worst thing about this camera is the "fish-eye" view and then the interface for panning and tilting and zooming. The video image is poor and strangely shaped. PTZ is NOT intuitive, and it is very difficult to control. The zoom-in feature is so pixelated you can't even make out facial features. There's one icon that makes the entire video image spin in a circle - can't imagine why someone would purposely want to do that - you can't SEE anything as it spins. If you wave your hand in front of the camera (even 15' away), you won't see your hand - just a blur. Oh, and when I get notifications and click on them, it opens the app and says, "Nothing Here". Wow. The instructions are terrible, too. Try any other camera before you try this one, you'll be happy you did. Can't recommend. I just got it today and will be returning tomorrow. Awful.

UPDATE:After having used this for about a week, I must say, it is awesome! Especially for the price. The motion detector starts recording right away & as you can see in the first pic, it took a snapshot of my dad before he even got to the porch. It alerted my phone before he got inside the house. You can't tell from these pics, but the panoramic views in the app are like having 4 cameras & the pan tilt feature like google earth makes people think I have a $1,000 security system. I am impressed with this camera & taking the low price into consideration, i am updating to 5 stars.I haven't had a chance to really use it, but the setup was not that hard (for Android app), but you may want to have someone fairly good with tech things. The PC client on the other hand, is in Chinese. Google translated the website, but installing the app is impossible if you cannot read it. The quality of the video and the live view from phone was great for the price of this. Since I haven't installed it and obviously have not had a chance to use it, I cannot say much more, but will update my review after I have.

Hello. What is the password for the AP Hotspot? Its not the same password for the modem wifi router. I even triedkscanning the QR code on the box but that did not work. Instructions for the AP hotspot is not on the book

I have bought this item recently, and it turned out to be really cool. This is an excellent compact camera packed with a lot of features. It almost looks like a smoke detector but smaller than a standard size smoke detector. The power connection is the back, which is nice. The camera view is clear.  The night vision is in black and white as shown in the picture from the product page and it is clear. I followed the instruction in the video in the product page and the setup was easy. After the initial setup, I moved the camera to a different location of the home and the camera automatically connected back and I didn’t have to reprogram. Using the App, I was able to rotate the camera to view different angles.Overall, it is a very good camera. I would recommend this product!
