I bought this as a non sodium alternative for MSG, as it's very difficult to find potassium glutamate in any retail quantity. Maybe I'll make it from this stuff and potassium bicarbonate ....Now this is the acid form of ... glutamic acid and is a very fine powder. It's extremely irritating to your nose. I highly recommend you transfer it to something easy to dispense from, like a "shaker" with a medium size pour hole, or pre dissolve it in water. (The low pH should keep a solution preserved just fine in a fridge infinitely. For *sure* nothing harmful can grow in it.) Even a whiff of this powder will annoy you for hours.Aside from that, great!Now. As a supplement? I dunno. The body makes its own glutamate on the other side of the blood-brain barrier as needed. It's not necessary in the diet but it doesn't hurt either. It's less toxic than ordinary salt. 🤷‍♂️Personally I think it's probably good only for cooking but ymmv.For seasoning and at the table, use at a ratio of about 1:10 with regular salt or completely non-salt substitutes, or 1:5-10 with potassium-containing salts, as you will use less of them (they're slightly bitter). It's probably best to make a mixture beforehand.

othere than a mild burning sensation when i dont dilute it enough in water, this stuff definately wakes up my brain .Also great i have better endurance and stamina.

I am giving this review for this product and all of the products I have sampled and ordered from Bulk Supplements. Because I am an amateur body builder, I am also a huge consumer of supplements. They supply my staples as well as those difficult to find. Excellent products. I love these guys!

Looks pure, but the taste is terrible--how can I make it palatable?

I did not like this supplement. I found it hard to take, I think a capsule would be much better. I ended up throwing it away. I gave this a 2 star because I cannot speak to the efficacy of the product due to not being able to take it.

It looks like this product was stored for long time in an inappropriate location and it completely lost its properties. First of all, when I opened the container, I detected a smell completely different than the first time I used it. Also, the color was not brilliant white as the first time, but something like off white or light caramel. But worse of all was the taste. It was awfully bitter and completely impossible to swallow. I tried adding it to a glass of lemonade, but the effect was the same. I had to discard the whole glass of lemonade because of the horrible taste. I strongly recommend the seller to check what is going on with this product, because if somebody purchases it for the first time will not have a reference to compare with and will probably think that this is the normal taste of the product. NO WAY!!

Easy enough to use, it replaces this item in pill form which I am no longer able to get. Great price compared to what I was paying for pills.
