So far works fine with 15-inch 2016 MacBook Pro
I had my doubts when purchasing this as (like most hubs with USB-C charging) it is geared toward a MacBook 12" which needs much less power than my 2016 MacBook Pro 15". I wasn't intending to use it to power my MBP, but I liked the 3 USB 3.0 ports and the Ethernet port. To my dismay, when reading the manual it says it runs in 2 modes, unpowered mode (no USB-C charging) and powered mode (with USB-C charging). According to the manual in unpowered mode you can only use mostly passive devices. But I tried it anyway. I connected 2 external SSD drives that use USB 3.0 Type A connectors, a USB 2.0 Type A dongle, and Ethernet. It runs a bit warm (almost hot) like this, but it provides enough power for all three USB devices. I ran Blackmagic on the one drive (Samsung 2TB SSD) and the results were 396.4 MB/s write and 420.5 MB/s read. This is as good or faster than using the Apple USB-C to USB 2.0 Type A connector only. So the USB 3.0 chip is doing a very good job. I'm also able to read my iLok security dongle which doesn't consume too much power. Plugging my 87W USB-C power supply into seems to work although I'm not sure how much power is actually making to my MBP. I'm a little concerned running 87W into it but the temperature has remained reasonably constant.I didn't purchase this on Amazon as I was expecting to have to return it. But I read the reviews on Amazon concerning heat and what others had to say about it. As finding a decent USB-C hub is currently difficult for the current crop of MacBook Pro's I wanted to add my comments here anyway. So far it is working like a champ. I'll update this if I need to use the HDMI port. I travel for business and this will reduce the amount of junk I need to carry around with my MPB.

Multitasking Adapter at its best.
So far this seems to be the best adapter I've found for the 2016 touchbar MBP. I tested most of the ports all at the same time and they worked well. it runs really hot, not sure if that will be a long term issue or not. I plugged in a 1080p HDMI monitor, Played a 1hr video over Cat5 off Youtube, plugged in a 1TB USB powered 7200rpm HD and started a 700GB transfer, plugged in a Thumb drive and transferred off of that, plugged in an iPhone cable and charged my phone, and plugged in the Mac power cable. All this happening at the same time and the adapter never showed any signs that it couldn't handle it all.

DEX Dock
This is my 2nd purchase of this product because I decided to keep one permenantly at my desk and carry another when I travel. At my desk, I use this device to connect my note 9 to a KVM so that I can use the DEX feature. The hub facilitates access to legitimate websites and sensitive online transactions independantly of the corporate network. In the field, the hub allows me to use the note 9 as a presentation and troubleshooting device. The 3 usb ports support a mouse, keyboard, and external storage devices without any glitches. It also supports a wired network connection which presents itself to the note 9 as a valid internet connection when wireless or 4g is unavailable. The hub usb-c connection supports 4k video (only with the use of a high quality HDMI cable) and fast charging.

I was extremely disappointed with this purchase
I was extremely disappointed with this purchase. The gigabit ethernet port doesn't work on my Macbook Pro. The USB ports work fine so far (I have my mouse and keyboard connected to them).I had to buy a Belkin USB-C to Ethernet adapter through Apple just so I could use my wired network.

Great small sleek docking station
This gem is working great for me. I needed a small. Clean looking docking setup for my small work from home desk. This has everything that I need and a couple of extras. Currently have my computer connected via USB-C and have one monitor connected via HDMI, my wireless keyboard dongle connected via USB, and still have another USB and a SD card slot and Micro SD card slot that I’m not even using. Overall this is exactly what I needed. If there is any negative it would be that it does not allow my full power supply pass through. I have a 90W power but when connected through the dock it only allows 60W to pass. Not a huge deal but worth considering.

Much better option than the Apple 3-port hub
Using this on my Macbook Pro touch bar.Tried all ports except the micro/mini SD cards. Everything works including charging the Mac when connected via USB power. Design is nice and minimal. Feels high quality. Like the subtle, blue LED the lights up when in use. Size is nice and compact, which makes it great for travel. Paid $71.

Problematic HDMI support
This should be awesome. It replaces all the functionality you lost in your macbook pro "upgrade." I have had nothing but problems with the HDMI port. Things were going OK until I unplugged power while I had HDMI and a USB keyboard adapter plugged in. As soon as power was removed from the hub the HDMI link was lost. I removed the HDMI and plugged it back in and still didn't recover. Now every time I bring my laptop back from a meeting I have to do a 5 minute interpretive dance to get the right combo of plugging and unplugging the hub, hdmi, and power in various combinations before I get a signal to my monitor. It doesn't seem like it's ever the same combination either. I have just replaced it with the official apple dongle for HDMI, USB-3, and USB-C and that seems to be working. Guess I'll keep this one around for when I need USB or SD. I was really looking forward to something that "just worked" but in my case this isn't it.
