This isn't the most intuitive to set up. If you need very explicit step-by-step instructions then stick with ring. It's kinda like apple vs android, the apple is easy to use but with less features, whereas the android has more control and features but isn't as easy/intuitive (IMO, don't hate on me Apple users!)This Wyze does everything my old ring did, yet has added features aspects. I can better control the size/area of the notification zones for motion, it's more like little blocks and you select the blocks in the areas you want notifications vs. the much bigger pie slices of ring. This allows for more customization, and irregular shaped notification zones (you can have an area with more blocks selected for a driveway on the side, for example, yet a smaller area for your front door so you can avoid the road and cars driving past, for example.In addition, it has more specific notifications, such as "some one is at your door using their phone" or "someone just left a package at your door", vs just the basing "someone is at your door" that ring gives you - I like this! Yes, it's not super necessary, but it's cool, and especially for packages just being dropped off.It has a shorter delay to showing the live and pre-recorded videos in the app. When ring was new, prior to being bought by Amazon, it was much quicker to click the app and see who was at the door or the motion or to look at the recordings. We then noticed a significant slowing within the year it was bought out, to the point it was very frustrating and by the time I could pull up the video the person had left out would've easily managed to break in already! This Wyze pulls up video much faster, reminiscent of when ring was new and faster.It has a smaller footprint on your wall - it's closer to the size of a double pack of juicy-fruit gum, much smaller than ring doorbell units.The initial set up, attaching it to the wall and to your wifi, was straightforward with a good step-by-step interface on your mobile phone.Downsides - the primary downsides are:1. It's not as intuitive to set up (going in and setting your zones, changing you ringtones and notification sounds, etc.) However, the initial set up, attaching it to the wall and to your wifi, was straightforward with a good step-by-step interface on your mobile phone.2. It does not have an option (that I can find) to work with your old-school chimes built into your house - you have to use the plug-in digital chime that comes with it.3. If you want to use the extra features and online video storage you pay per unit, not a blanket fee that covers all your devices like ring. However, I'm ok with this, especially now that ring makes you agree to allow your ring devices to share your wifi with neighboring devices (essentially using your wifi and bandwidth as part of it's own mesh) No thanks. I'm not up for supporting a collective mesh using my wifi for ring's purposes.SUMMARY: Great unit, more features than ring doorbells, faster video response time, not as intuitive for non-tech folks, costs more for online storage per unit BUT it won't share your wifi with other ring units and into a ring mesh (using your bandwidth for purposes not serving you) like ring now does.

I have had my Wyze Video Doorbell about a year now and I absolutely love it! I purchased it to go along with one of my Wyze Cams that I had bought about 2 years previous. The install was quick and easy, paired with the app and my account, and my whole family loves being able to use this to see who’s at the door! Picture quality is great and the ease of downloading a video when I need it is fantastic. Hands down my favorite Doorbell I’ve ever owned. Battery life is also great! Just wish it wasn’t a micro-usb connection for charging but that’s a small inconvenience!

This camera rivals the nore expensive doorbell cameras. My parents have a Ring and I see no differencebin quality. Sound, microphone and picture quality are excellent. Easy to install. I purchased the doorbell camera after absolutely loving the my Cam3's I use for security monitoring.

Easy to install!

We had a ring camera for a few years and were never happy with it. There were always connectivity issues and it wouldn’t record when we needed. We got a Wyze for our new home and are very happy with it. The quality is pretty good and the response time is very quick. My only complaint is that the the plug-in doorbell speaker has a button ontop that makes a loud chime and my kids torture me by pressing it 50 times a day. Could do without that haha.

ConsThere is no internal storage, so it's subscription or live view only.Detection is hit or miss. I don't understand how it misses almost all Amazon deliveries but it's fine to acth other people passing by. Because of this, it's just a door bell with some deterrent value for criminals (they don't seem to care, though) and some entertainment value.The interface for this camera is completely different that all the other cameras from WYZE.The app loads pretty slowly, so if someone rings the bell, I can never use the features in the app to talk remotely with the person or send a canned reply etc. It just takes too long and sometimes the app locks up trying to get to the proper place.ProsThe picture quality is pretty good.I like the tilted mounting option.

The Wyze Video Doorbell was so easy to install. I was able to wire it up to replace the existing doorbellwithout any problems. Once installed and easily connected to my network. the camera had a clear picture on my phone and I would see the full body of a person at the door very clearly. The microphone and speaker were clear and easy to understand the person. I love this Wyze Video Doorbell.

The video doorbell repeatedly goes off line. It randomly will allow me to reboot. The chime has NEVER worked worst of all, you never can actually talk to someone for help. It was a waste of my money! Diffult to even cancel my subscription.
