Elegant and useful
This Tea Pot is both elegant and useful. This quickly replaced another "push button" pot I have. The other was similarly useful, but seemed breakable. The correlation of the lid and brewing basket on the Gourmia GTP9815 is designed better, with a silicon seal on the underside of the rim to be both simple and secure. The nonslip silicone foot on the carafe is the another useful design feature. Again - it feels far less breakable than similar pots.To top it off, the elegance of the glass pouring spout make this item beautiful when it's not in use and practical when it is. Easiest 5-start rating in a long time.

A lot of work.....
I ordered this because I love Teavana loose tea and wanted a tea maker and coffee maker. However, there is a lot that is not said on here. This is like a French press - you have to heat the water before using it (I did this on a pot on the stove). Then, you pour it over the coffee or tea in the filter. What is not said anywhere (in the description or reviews) is that you have to push the button many times - pour water, push the button, pour water, push the button ... you get the idea ... until you have the desired amount. I felt that this was a lot of work! I was expecting to pour the water in, press the button, walk away, and come back to a pot of tea or coffee. Nope, not the case.I have this 3 stars because it does make the coffee strong - which is what I love. I have a Kuereg and it waters the coffee down and I didn't like that. I also like that I can use loose tea leaves with it, along with coffee. If you don't mind standing there for 5-10 mins, then this is a good maker for you! I just wish someone had wrote about all this before I bought it!! Hope this review helps!!

Pretty nice, one issue.
THIS IS NOT FOR BREWING FOR A FAMILY OR GROUP. This is for brewing one cup at a time, and a 6oz tea cup at that. The DRAIN is a gravity device, a little steel ball on the end of a lever plugging up the drain hole. The plunger on the lid pushes down on a rod that extends through the filter and depresses the other end of the drain ball's lever, popping it up out of the drain hole. Seals much better than I would have thought. The CLEANING isn't bad with loose leaf tea, but the FILTER IS NOT REMOVABLE and there is no way to get to the space between the bottom of the filter cup and the filter. Small tea leaves get through the hole around the drain plunger stem and get trapped under the filter between some plastic structures. I've got no way to get them out except flush tons of water through it, and even then I've still not managed to get all of the leaves out. I shudder to think about using this for coffee. DESIGN is visually nice but the glass is pretty thin. It's taken a couple smacks but I'm dubious about its longevity with anything but gentle handling. The silicone base is very stable. The SPOUT is well designed and does not drip. The lid could fall off when pouring if you don't have the plunger rotated away from the spout so the lit can hang from it. Overall, I like it other than the trapped detritus under the filter I can't figure out how to remove.EDIT Oct 2019: The filter IS removable, but not easily and not replaced easily. It is a very tight interference fit. I am able to remove the filter by pushing a rod through the drain hole and exerting considerable force against the ball stopper, which in turn presses against the filter till it pops out. One of these days I'm going to shove the rod through that filter, destroying it. Getting the filter back in place is a trick. The filter and the bowl both have molded protrusions that both locate the stopper ball and act as a fulcrum over which the ball's rod pivots when actuated by the drain button at the top of the bowl. Getting the ball in place, turned correctly so that its rod is in the right location and oriented correctly, and getting the filter into the bowl with its tight fit without touching the stopper ball or its rod and knocking it out of alignment is super frustrating. It is all doable, and I do regularly for cleaning, but it's not easy and is hugely aggravating. My concern for longevity has proven to be unfounded. Still going strong, no chips or cracks. Granted, I've not dropped it yet but I have smacked it on hard surfaces a lot harder than I meant to on a number of occasions. No problem so far.

Best Tea Infuser Out There for Whole Leaf Tea
Love this tea infuser! This is the best whole leaf tea infuser I have ever bought. I have at least 4 other tea infusers from other manufacturers that don't meet the quality of this particular brand, Gourmia. I have been infusing whole leaf tea for about 2 years now and was trying out many different models. This one does everything I want in a tea infuser and it functions perfectly. I won't buy any other brand anymore. The filter filters out all the small tea particles so they don't go into the decanter. There is rubber on the bottom so I don't have to use a coaster anymore. The long spout pours perfectly with no dripping. The handle is very comfortable and it holds quite a bit of tea, plenty for any tea session. I had one and then decided to buy two more just in case I drop one! I highly recommend this infuser for all whole leaf tea drinkers out there. You'll love it.

First return I've ever had
I've been buying things from Amazon for years. This Tea pot looked so good. In actual use, the design, when pouring slowly allows the tea to flow back along the spout dripping everywhere. Also the poorly designed drip basket, does not allow easy flow through your loose tea. As a result, it may take 10 minutes or more to pour water through it while making tea

Good quality product with only a few nitpicks
Great teapot for the price. One of the issues I found with it is that the stainless steel bottom wasn’t quite pushed all the way to the bottom of the brewing chamber. This allowed the lever arm of the stopper to wedge itself outside of its area. Causing the stopper to stick in the position that allows all the liquid out of the chamber. Also, even when properly aligned, the stopper will allow liquid to drip through while there is liquid in the brewing chamber. It’s almost negligible and therefore is acceptable. One nitpick I do have is that I wish it had a lid that would fit the teapot itself, thus allowing the brewing chamber to be removed while still allowing you to cover the tea itself.
